I really love this S2! BLs are seriously lacking old gays because we need more of these mature stories. i love…
And also the contrast when it came to actual flooding of the house. Ex was like: "deal with it!, it inconveniences me, where is food?, bye!" (and it was ex's cat's fur that caused the issue!) Kenji actually bought tube in case something like this happens again and was totally chill about it (excluding the being jealous of ex part π€£), he also contributes to house chores and sometimes even cooks for them both. I think most telling was Shiro's thoughts about his ex not having work on weekend - you could tell he annoyed him. I think even if Kenji had Saturday's off they would happily cook, clean and eat together.
I just finished binging all 12 episodes and I wasnβt prepared for that age gapβ¦. U mean to tell me that Bai…
Age gap between actors is 10 years, so...
I was like: wait a second I know the brother from somewhere... π‘- History4 older bro! And we got as well from History3, 4 people from Plus Minus and both from Be Loved in House: I Do π₯°
But if ANYTHING HAPPENS TO CHEN YI I SWEAR. I NEED BOTH HAPPY ENDINGS!!!!
I just finished binging and seeing all the misleads so far I am afraid that it might have been Ai Di in danger π’ I must say Ai Di is my favourite - little spitfire with big heart. Side note: the wig he was using while being undercover was hideous but he was still π₯
Moral of the story: Everyone is capable of change and improvement, except Boston. Fuck him apparently. π
The question is if a person truly wants to change. Top was actually making amends (and haven't shown video of RaySand). Mew got a chance to be pay Boston back (with the video) and choose not to. Ray decided to get help with his drinking and to generally work on himself. Sand is still a bit to soft towards people he cares/cared about, so he should work a bit more on setting boundaries. Nick's plan to love himself more is a good start (let's hope that he won't spy on his next partner).
I am however totally disappointed with Cheum - when she thought that her bro was SA by Boston she was more angry that he supposedly went after her bro than SA and then when Atom confessed she did nothing (at least scold your bro a bit)! For me she and Atom were the worst.
I think Boston has a right not to change (or not want to change) - it's not like bringing single is a crime. He can have as many partners as he wants - he should just be very clear with them that it's casual (he was constantly getting Nick's hopes up). I hope he learned not to go after his friends partners. I think that was the worst - they were friends for 4 years! Partners can come and go but true friendships can last lifetime. By going after Top he showed how little he thought about his friendship with Mew and I can understand if Mew cannot get past that betrayal.
Another solid EP! I really liked how it showed what is truly important in a relationship - considering the other person (be it by changing meals to be more healthy - *cough*bacon-in-salad*cough* - or buying tube / helping with house chores). Your other half doesn't have to be "your type" but should make you happy to be with (and in a relationship).
Nobu, what a π€¬ - in which way was he just Shiro's type?! Seriously, even if I was visiting an acquaintance and their washer was flooding the house, I would have helped π€―
I just can't with Kenji being straightaway: I will be more jealous π€£
Quick question for everyone watching currently, is it necessary to watch the movie and new year special to understand…
I think it's fine. There is reference to the movie* in EP4 but I think you can understand everything even if you haven't watched it yet. Basically each EP is it's own closed story.
*π¨Spoilerπ¨ Shiro's mom initially invited Kenji to have New Year's celebrations together again. Later the invitation was rescinded - it turns out that even though she liked Kenji, last year after celebrating New Year with him she was sick for days (due to not accepting that her son has male partner). Long story short - Shiro decided to spend New Year with Kenji and not his family (don't worry - mother was supporting his decision).
Oh, Boston, forever seeking the quick thrill in clandestine restroom rendezvous, yet missing out on the full banquet…
Since Sand knows Boston and how he is... perhaps he already hit on him and just Sand was not interested? (he needs a real challenge - fixer-upper for a BF π)
Lol same. This is my first show of them I didnt even knew that they acted im other shows too. I just dont get…
So true! Now I am thinking Ray+Boston would give him 1st hit but the finishing blow by Sand would have been the most satisfying. Not sure if Sand can do it - he is quite weak with people he likes, so I hope any lingering affection for Boening would be gone.
I am hoping (if the series is a big hit) that they might do it HIStory or Love Class way - new season with new…
HIStoty is Taiwanese series. Fan favourites are: 3 - Trapped and 4 - Make or Days Count (be warned that it's BE!). I liked 1 - Obsessed (MC goes back in time 10 years and to avoid heartbreak and death he decides never to get involved with ML - guess who gets obsessed with MC? π)
Taiwanese BL's are not bad (I would say quite good, actually). One of the best is We Best Love. Now there is big hit: Kiseki - Dear To Me (they are up to EP10 out of 13, I think). I am not sure how spicy it is, as I am stockpiling EPs to do marathon.
It's his scare tactic, a total bluff. He did it to Amm (girl leaving with Sand in EP2), "Freddie Mercury" and…
Nah. It's not Sand's style, he was visibly not happy any time Ray was suggesting it. As for Ray - you remember how he treated "Freddie Mercury" when him and Sand were about to kiss? No way is he allowing anybody touch (or even look at) his guy π
Lol same. This is my first show of them I didnt even knew that they acted im other shows too. I just dont get…
I still don't get why he created Enchante... I decided to finish it only because Jimmy was supposed to be there - why so little? π’
I have been re-watching Only Friends and mainly warchin Sand/Ray (and Nick+Sand - they are actually friends... Mew+Ray+Boston+Cheum - not so much IMO).
I'm new to BL dramas (only watched animes in the past). I just randomly found this show and it's my favorite aside…
Sand/Ray for me as well π
I would recommend one of my Thai faves: Not me. Thai BL are plentiful and sometimes it's hard to watch everything. People seem to love I Told Sunset About You and I Promises You The Moon but I will admit that I dropped it after 1st or 2nd EP. It wasn't bad (I watched a lot worst) I just couldn't get into it. Cinematography is beautiful, though.
Japan has like the craziest range, where you can find series that is basically a p*rn the whole time (End of the world with you) or not even hand holding (8.2 Second Rule) and all all in between. I would advice you to definitely check My Beautiful Man (2 seasons + movie), What Did You Eat Yesterday (they are releasing 2d season now and it has special + movie as well) and Zettai BL (2 seasons, it's based on manga and hilarious - basically makes fun of BL thropes).
Korea has usually short (10-30 min/EP) but packed series. Color Rush (nice but with dead fish kiss and 2nd season has different main), Blueming (2nd season is in the making), Light on Me (very sweet and quite long for the country), Love Class (each season is about different couples and the 2nd is better IMO), Semantic Error, The Eighth Sense, To My Star.
Taiwanese have usually more balanced series than Japanese π. Try: HIStory (it consists of multiple separate stories and fan faves are: 3 - Trapped and 4 - Make Or Days Count but let me warn you about the 2nd one - BE), Because of you, DNA says love you, We Best Love (was absule hit when it aired and I still want 3rd season focusing on the cousin-doc and student).
Now China does BL very differently due to censorship. Censorship really cracked on them after Addicted (they weren't even able to realese all EPs), so now they have to do it subtly but you can clearly see how they feel for eachother. Here are some not to miss: The Untamed (besed on wuxia novel, now officially translated; look for the bowing in front of ancestors tablets - it's how people got married π€), The World of Honour (also based on wuxia novel; I have no idea how this passed censorship as ML is flirty as hell), Killer and Healer (it's a hidden gem but unfortunately has BE for basically everyone - they gathered some scraps later and made alternative, HE for 1st copule, though; it's set in 1920's, I think), Justice in the Dark/The Abyss/Silent Reading (censorship cracked on this in February and stopped realese after 8 EPs), Stay With Me (remake of Addicted, filmed outside China so it's a bit riskier; 2nd season in the making which is important as 1st ended with cliffhanger; some say it's not what it's advertised to be but for me if you watch opening you get that it's about family).
Vietnam has Mr. Cinderella to show off (now releasing 2nd season) but BL industry is not as in other countries so it's quite low quality (I constantly see that there are fan meets with Thai BL actors in Vietnam, so it's not like it's not popular genre there π€·ββοΈ).
There is also Norwegian SKAM (=shame) Seaon 3 (each season focuses on 1 person from friends group and 3rd is about closeted Isak and guy he fells in love, Even, who has some issues I won't spoil). Series was so popular that like 7 other countries did remakes. As far as I know Seaon 1 and 2 are basically the same in all remakes (just a bit more country specific) but the changes start with S3. I watched Norwegian (4 seasons), French (12 seasons) and Italian (5 seasons) versions and all were great in their own way. My favourite S3 is FR (not just due to "painting" scene Luc and Elliot made π€ - apparently they filmed in their own clothes and needed hours of shower afterwards π). FR has the added bonus of doing the most seasons, so Luc and Elliot appear in later seasons (I think up to 6th?) but there is no Elliot season, as oryginal creators wouldn't allow it. Definitely watch FRs trailer (1min).
Lol same. This is my first show of them I didnt even knew that they acted im other shows too. I just dont get…
I dropped Enchante and watched it till end due to Jimmy and his voice π I agree with comments under that series that it was hard to tell who is whom sometimes. A Boss And A Babe was at least funny and I enjoyed most of that series (it got so-so towards the end). Here they are the least interesting couple ot of main 3, I agree. I am wondering if they have a bit of Moonlight Chicken issue: there as 1st couple were Earth/Mix but they were the least interesting to me, Liming/Heart ware my faves and Alan/Gaipa (again Firs/Khao) had almost non-existent pairing but I still liked them a lot more than the mains. Similarly My Engineer (my faves were the 3rd: King/Ram). Some series "suffer" from 2nd/3rd copule syndrome π€·ββοΈ
I refused to beleieve that this is gonna end in this week πππ This is soo goood! We get this goood show…
I am hoping (if the series is a big hit) that they might do it HIStory or Love Class way - new season with new set of friends (and occasional cameo from OGs), as I don't want to torture those guys anymore (and we all now how they would have to break them all up for next season π).
I think most telling was Shiro's thoughts about his ex not having work on weekend - you could tell he annoyed him. I think even if Kenji had Saturday's off they would happily cook, clean and eat together.
I was hoping that he would restrain himself at least till he is 18 but it still could be considered grooming, so not much better π
