For me as well, I have dropped other gender reversal dramas, particularly those that reduce men to mere simps.
The distinction here lies in the fact that the male lead remains manly. He devotes himself to the woman he loves, yet he is also assertive. The female lead is not entirely in control, for he is skilful in his patience while awaiting her affection, and at the same time he leaves her little choice but to love him.
He is ruthless towards his enemies and utterly dependable.
I believe Princess Royal attempted something similar, but the result was a dismal failure.

I thought the same at first, until I examined the production company’s other work, which did little to convince me. After watching the leads speak about how they prepared one another for the reversal of roles, it became clear that this was their craft, and for that reason I am crediting the actor.
Have you ever encountered such a character before? Surely there must be echoes in history of a similar style of writing. Credit should be given where it is deserved.
And of course, it is the collective effort of the entire production team that enabled them to execute and enrich their roles.

Yet in the sphere of comedy he unquestionably bears the weight, for he is the one who keeps us laughing, and this is consistent with the point I made in my opening paragraph.
The second couple, though amusing and capable of raising a smile, do not provoke my laughter with the same intensity. It is the crown prince who commands my laughter most.

She is unable to reconcile her guilt with the pain her son endured. She doesn't believe that loving him can compensate for the past; at worst, she feels she has no right to be his mother or to love him at all. She also feels unqualified to apologise, questioning how she could possibly make amends for her son's trauma when she couldn't even distinguish her own child from another.
Ultimately, her anger is not born of hate, but of the profound guilt she carries.
