For an example, if they had sent him those brothel ladies without him having a wife, his father in law there (who’s very wise and a sound voice), what was gonna be his excuse to refuse them, and what would his opponents think of him?
Wouldn’t they see him as a threat who’s calculating against them?
His wife and family are there to ground him, and he’s known for being filial, which helps him in certain circumstances.
It’s not romance, but just a family dynamic that includes a wife.
