I am enjoying the historical aspects of this drama however feel so sad for the Empress and increasingly annoyed at the Emperor and his weaknesses. Specifically the Emperor has such a blind spot for the crazy stupid consort Zhang cant wait for her to expire, all I can say she must have been spectacular in the boudoir. Is Lady Dong the next one he has a fancy for? With such a superior Empress it is such a shame he is so timid with her and did not take action to bed her as is the case with his other women. It is obvious from the portrayal by Wang Kai that beneath his timidity with the Empress he appears to have affection for her - was it love. I suppose I shall find out later. Maggie Jiang as the Empress is so wonderful to watch and the child stars were super cute. My fav male cast (apart from Wang Kai who was so good in his role) are Liang Huai and offcourse MaoZe. Once more Zhao Zhen made a mistake with his treatment of MaoZe, whoes love for the Empress is also heartbreaking to see. Gosh these poor women some who lived their whole lives in a virginal state bound by such strict rules of the harem whilst the male in their lives roamed around impregnating the so called lucky ones. Neither wonder some eunuchs were able to have affairs with harem ladies. You can cut the family jewels but you cant cut feelings of love and desire.

On EP 10 and dropping the drama. It is frankly boring. Watched the Legend of Dugu and really enjoyed the passion felt by the actors. ML and FL are more like brother and sister they even sleep separately. What's the silly deal with that. How are they supposed to have the kids? So much for his undying statement that he will only love / marry the FL. ML is portrayed meh male. Director / writer for the drama have done a poor job to keep people interested in the project noway could I put up with 40 more episodes.

I really tried watched to ep 22 and had to stop. It was boring and to me zilch chemistry between the ML who I loved in the Legend of Dugu and the FL. Thought the FL acting was bland at best. Too many other more interesting dramas to choose from. Too bad I thought it had promise at the beginning.

Enjoying this light Romcom however the lip gloss the FL has plastered on her lips is off putting. Ask any guy/girl who has kissed a girl with so much goop on her lips if they liked it. Perhaps if its a nice flavour, otherwise it just gets smeared everywhere. YUK. Everyone else in the cast is wearing normal lipstick. The gloss actually accentuates a not so attractive mouth. Just my personal thoughts no malice intended.

Enjoying this romcom nice & light

Dylan looks a bit puffy in the face in this season. Only watched S1 for him and up to ep 14 in S2. Dislike the FL she is silly and naive, directors appear to like the FL to lack any street smarts. The most annoying part is her little internet pal with whom she has lots of chats via sms tells all but cannot communicate with her husband. As for the "misunderstanding" well that a load of twaddle. Both FL in S1 and S2 cant act and annoy. I have not watched any drama directed by Sing and Bo and now I know why........... Will avoid them at all costs in the future.

Well watched this one and up to ep14 in PM 2. Both FL are annoyingly naive dubbed with silly little girl voices. The directors appear to like the mentally challenged female as FL. They used different female actors in S2 - only improvement was meng meng and the introduced female psych doctor. If nothing else this rubbish proves communication is king. Don't waste your time. Cannot believe this trash got a second season when so many other good quality dramas did not.

Last time I looked these are comments. It is a matter of perception and opinion. With regards to crap may I suggest an increase in daily fibre intake. Goes a long way to put a smile on the dial. Now you have a nice day won't you.

Agree totally the drama was way too long at least 10 eps of useless twaddle could have been cut out. Instead of using the exceptional Zhang Han and Janine Chang in more of a current day story line the drama was filled with boring useless stories. In particular the SML and SFL (developer of the girlfriend app and the twitty secretary), their romance was so boring. The sister and her love life could have been cut back. Then the abnormally long length of time that YiXin was given. It made me wonder who was actually the FL Janine Chang or Jenny Zhang (perhaps Janine was filming other work at the same time). Imagine you have caviar ordered from the menu and you end up with fish and chips, that's how I saw this drama. ZH is as sexy as heck his male pheromones jump out at you (those eyes) wow. They had the opportunity of making an excellent drama and totally mucked it up. The FL was unfortunately cast as a total wimp however given the fact she effectively had a nervous breakdown that could be forgiven.

Here we go again a boring whiny mouse as FL. Chinese women are either portrayed as mindless twits or raving bitch lunatics. Time these writers / directors woke up and started to portray the FL as smart and equal to the. ML. The dialogue and conversations between the ML and FL are boring as heck, what man in his right mind would contemplate a relationship with such an immature person much less not even attractive. Dropping this trivle.

I dropped this tripe for a week or so then today went back. The business with another concubine just was the final nail in the coffin. Who needs this lazy angst not me. If it was half way clever perhaps. Give me quality clever drama. Mr Queen comes to mind. Not this boringly written garbage. Princess Weiyoung was ruined by Cheng Ting Yu, similarly this adaption from a novel has been too.

Well at EP 30 and I loathe the FL. There is something not quite right about the way this story pans out. There is a real sicko feeling at the lies upon lies the FL keeps sprouting that hurt those around her. I will avoid the screen writer, anyone who subtlety displays this type of angst should be avoided. I would be very happy if the FL actually expired (she doesn't). The actress' facial expression when she pulls the childish act reminds me of a pug dog. I really wanted to see the story out but no thanks.

I am really enjoying this romcom. Nice to watch no angst so far no idiot stalkers desperately pushing themselves into the ML/FL.

What an annoying blockhead twit of a character Xie Xiao is I have to FF any scene he is in. Wish he would just disappear. If I see him once more with his mouth open and swishing his pony tail in that girly way I swear I shall chuck my remote at the TV.

Dropped it at ep 38 it's just too prissy boring and those scenes with ML and FL standing with hands clasped in those stylised poses just made me cringe. If there had been some actual passion I might have stayed with it. Note to self avoid drama written by Cheng Ting Yu.

up to ep30 and finding the drama a tad boring, still 5 eps to go before there is any action so to speak. Was watching the Sleepless Princess and have loved this drama, available on YT so if you are also a bit bored with TSATB and still waiting for additional eps with ENG subs check it out, word of warning the subs for The Sleepless Princess are not the best however the drama is worth it.

I loved this drama the ending in ep35 was appropriate. The fluff in the special ep36 was cute but not for me. Hope this drama is taken up by Viki so more people get a chance to see it. Great love story and the chemistry between the leads was lovely to see. I hope that they are matched in another drama soon they are the perfect pair - like Eternal Love. Wish though the kisses were a bit more steamy!!

The pregnancy is fake at ep24. We may just be waiting until ep 45 for the deed at this rate. .
