I like the actor who plays the ML, Huang Xuan. Somehow I´ve only seen him in roles where he develops from a seemingly lovely and kind man to a horrible man.

There seems to be a misunderstanding about the ending of The Double. Somehow quite a few watchers are convinced it is a SE, while others are convinced it is a HE. That misunderstanding is because the last scene is filmed in a dreamy atmosphere. Like the intentionally ambiguous (post credits) open ending of the drama Forbidden Flower with Jerry Yan and Xu Ruohan, and several other C-dramas. However, The Double has the same happy ending as the original novel it was based on. Due to some adventures it takes time before ML returns home to the FL, so she waits patiently for his return. He definitely returns home, be it filmed in a dreamy style. The director of The Double even created an extra, short episode to make clear to the public that the CP had a happy ending indeed.

thnx for the information. If this is true, these cultural officials and authorities in general must hate her. Mayby it´s misogyny against beautiful and succesful women. Imo it´s just too much hate. Almost like a plot in a C-drama where bad luck is orchestrated by haters.

I watch C-dramas on my laptop, not on my smartphone. I never had pop-ups on kisskh using the adblocker U-block, until recently. Very annoying. After a while I discovered that I had to get the latest version of U-block, it´s called U-block Origin lite. I installed it, and it works perfect. No ads popping up anymore.

Surely you and I are not the only ones feeling that Mr Wallace Chung´s look is a bit off some of the time, not in every scene. However, he still is a handsome man at 51 years of age.

Only know Li Meng (ZhenZhen) from All about Love, The Double and The Epoch of Miyu. Bad characters, Great actress.

So far, so good. I basically like ZhuZhu, Wallace Chung, Li Meng and Jing Chao as actors. I´m at episode 5 now, and I start to wonder what is going on with Wallace Chung´s face and skincolor. Is it the make-up, the hair, filters, is it him, is it the camera lens, is it the angle? I don´t mind actors getting older, and therefore looking older. Too bad ´they´ did whatever they did to his looks.

I have seen a few C-dramas with weaving as a theme one way or the other, like The Rise of Phoenxes (weaving is Ning Yi´s hobby-profession), Brocade Odyssee, Marvelous Women. Now I´m looking for a high quality 2026 short drama with wellknown actors Wang Dao Te and Jiao Jun Yan. The Chinese title supposedly is: 顾盼锦年 (Gu Pan Jin Nian), probably meaning in English Looking back at (golden years) Brocade years. ´As of April 2026, this phrase is used as the title of the short drama, about the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, specifically Song brocade weaving. The title in English could be `Brocade Years´. I could not find this high quality short drama online (yet), not with the Chinese title, not with the assumed Englsh title. Unfortunately It s not on MDL on the CV´s of actors Wang Dao Tie and Jiao Jun Yan (yet). Who knows where to look?
