The criticisms are not fair because they're usually from competitors who are jealous and afraid of their idols or boss getting replaced by younger and new rising stars. JJY is not alone in all that you described. Back then, Yang Zi was in the same boat. One after another, gullible characters, repetitive acting, same styling, etc. rinse and repeat. She used quite a few years until she established her studio, was able to slowly get projects she really wants, it's not easy for anyone to pick and choose. Even if a new character comes up, it doesn't always mean a new challenge, considering that if they work with directors who don't even know how to film, it's just gonna be a waste of time. I never saw Dilraba in anything new either until this year, only Turquoise Island and Love Beyond the Grave started to be a new change. Directing is an important type of art. Without a good director, it doesn't even matter if a person can act or not. You can be the best actress in the whole wide world, but work with a crappy director, he doesn't even know how to shoot anything or connect the story, that's failure no matter what. I just don't get why some crappy fools out there keep on marketing very nonsensical stuff, such as Zhao Liying, marketing that actresses are not serious if they don't die on set, and people will just parrot after her nonsense. Of course nobody can change agencies within a click like she can, no one can market nastily like she can, no one can pick and choose their projects like she can, no one can use 1,000,000 stand-ins like she can and still not blamed. She can brag, but others can only stay quiet and let their works speak for themselves. Some people market very nastily. If an actress work with a crappy director but tried their best, haters look past all those hard effort and just straightly blame the actress without questioning the director as if he doesn't exist. If the actress finally get to work with a decent director, haters still look past the actress and went directly to acknowledge the director that they shaped the actress certain ways so only they own the credits. There's no fairness in that. It's just all marketing. I don't worship idols. I just want to watch something decent. I don't like people who market so nastily against others for selfish reasons, causing drama droughts and it's millions of viewers who gets to suffer. JJY is very decent to me for the very fact she's nice, doesn't market, works hard and proves herself talented. She has respect for directors and the whole team, that's why she doesn't market like a fool as if she's dying for attention like some people. That type of professionalism is something others cannot buy with all the money they throw on black marketing. People don't want to acknowledge JJY because they're jealous and look down on her, that's a fact. Actors or directors, they go hand in hand, everyone wants to keep both of their hands, who wants to have only 1 hand? I've seen very nasty people who market against their own team, their own directors, their own juniors they're supposed to raise, their own so call friends, when they fail and need to find blame on others that's what they do. JJY worked in numerous bad dramas but she doesn't blame anyone, that's why although I was never a fan I never look down such person.

CDL is extremely beautiful but she always work her way up, even after being famous, she never snatch leading roles and foolishly believe that only leading roles can make her famous. I love her resiliency and willingness to always work alongside very beautiful actresses like herself. Veil of Shadows would've been a failure to me if they did not cast 2 beauties equal to each other.

I didn't like JJY back then, bc she always get casted in low budget dramas that makes her repeatedly the silly, stupid but kind hearted girl. Didn't help it's always the same voice dubbing her. Even worst, always zombie make up. But I never encourage all those bullying, not everyone is lucky to play awesome roles. It requires deeeeeeeeeep connections to play what ever you like as you wish. If it's easy to pick and choose, JJY would've picked something great a long time ago. She was only working in what ever opportunity that came by, and did the best she could in them. She was also not alone, so many actresses and actors were in the same boat. Both men and women, all being typecasted PLUS getting attack by jealousy marketers. That's why although I was not a fan, I knew her dilemma and hated those dirty marketings talking about how JJY is non-serious.

After bullying JJY for so long, people can't stand it, that all of a sudden the little JJY they always look down on is suddenly so good and better now. JJY even surpassed some shady actress who self proclaimed themselves as A-lister. Of course, someone who used to be at the bottom being trampled on for years suddenly rose to the very top, will make haters die from jealousy.

I didn't expect her original voice to be so good. I know she's a singer, but I thought maybe when she speaks it's not as good that's why she never dub herself. BOY! Part of the reason back then I never like her was bc the voice that always dubbed her really made her sound gullible, childish, and non-smart. I love how she speaks in Veil of Shadows, it matches the character super well, especially when the character has a fainty cry. Maybe JJY is smart, she saves her voice for the best and when the time is right. I don't think her previous dramas deserve her real voice anyway, bc they always have issues with bad styling and bad storylines. This time JJY really proves herself deservable of being cast in explosive storylines and big budget dramas. Congratulations for the success!

What is there to trust about people who said the FL "has no place to speak up" but once you call them out for hating, they suddenly have no more voice. Huh? When they criticize others constantly, they are big mouths. But when you expose them, they won't explain. The one with no place to speak should be them.
