At 1st they made it appear so...but then had her fan girl over him
What's her purpose? To me is to create a love triangle ...add more to the drama....
I don't see how she helped him be a better person. He is still a jerk. All the character did is...add to his love line....she didn't make him forget about his ex...
Her liking him....feeds his ego....she's a prop...she boost him up...
That is a disservice of what they could've done with the character
I rather see him more with the ML....the ML challenging him better...for character growth

In any drama we all will enjoy an arch more than others.
It either click or it doesn't....or it simmer.
I find in general majority i drama i watch...simmer by the 3rd quarter.
