I find myself wishing that the ML had more speaking lines...? Often he's just standing there looking confused and hurt, and doesn't seem to get to say much during a lot of scenes. 😭

For me this was a mixed bag. The story felt like it just dragged on and on during their youth, though it did still have some well-acted scenes. Chemistry between the leads was probably the highlight of the whole series in general, so that's at least good for a romantic story. I enjoyed the part after they grew into adults much more and the intimate scenes were very sweet and sometimes a little heart-wrenching.

Wow, that trailer with the guqin is very mystical and beautiful. Looks like LYT is dubbed yet again, but at least the voice matches her character and appearance better this time.

These trailers are promising me a lot of idiot slapping. I like to see terrible people get slapped and Meng Zi Yi does look very cool and stylish while doing it. Hopefully the show delivers. 😂

What will I do once this drama is finished airing and I want to check on some unreasonably postponed show?! I'll need to find a new page to yearn over. 🤣

I'm having some quality issues with this on iQIYI as well. Which is weird because their site and app are usually the best quality and least problems for me... Maybe importing this over from Bilibili was done improperly or something.

I would just be trying to marry into the Wei family in this one. Look at them! All beautiful, interesting, and funny. We could negotiate some outdoors time for that incessant flute playing though. 😂

I don't want to hate on the lady who dubbed LYT's character because it isn't like she is horrible or untalented or something, but they need to find a way to keep the original actors' voices for some of these shows... Like in this case it actually would have measurably improved the drama to hear LYT's real voice. Maybe it doesn't bother the Chinese audiences as much, I don't know.

Drama gods, please give me the strength to tolerate some of this questionable dubbing and enjoy the series... Because I really adore all of these actors... 🤣

Actually enjoying this. I like the spooky and grim vibes. Hankiz Omar and Zhu Zhengting are gorgeous together. There's a bit of reverse trope going on with the sexy and mysterious "dark lord" being a lady for once and the clueless mortal tied to them being a man.

Surprise drop!? I could use a laugh these days, I hope it is good and funny.

Wow, that scene in episode 15 was absolutely stunning. Hauntingly beautiful and unsettling at once.

These are all of the aspects I'm enjoying as well. Normal skin tones and textures, music not intruding on scenes but rather subtly enhancing it, environment mostly realistic and naturally colored as well. It feels both beautiful and yet relatable, like I am almost another person or character inside the scene experiencing it with them.

The BGM tracks for this are very interesting, it almost reminds me more of an anime series. The strange music and sound effects during the tense or slightly scary scenes are pretty cool.

Ahhh I didn't realize Li Yu (Master Gu) was in this! His facial expressions crack me up. He often plays my favorite "goofy but deeply wise" old master archetype.
