Yes, I rated Kiseki: Dear to Me high. I donât remember exactly why, but it was probably because of the story. As for the age gap, I honestly forgot there even was one. Sometimes Iâm okay with age gaps in fiction when itâs easy to overlook them. I admit there might be some hypocrisy in the way I perceive these things. That said, I donât know where you saw a rating from me for Minatoâs Laundromat. I never rated that series. The age gap there actually made me uncomfortable.

"Itâs almost like the only thing that makes it acceptable is that the âmagical non aging creaturesâ just LOOK young and attractive."
Youâre right about one thing: they still look young. So theyâre essentially portrayed as young. Most of the time theyâre also written that wayâregardless of the number attached to their age, theyâre not more mature than the love interest. So the dynamic basically feels like theyâre the same age.
"Oh hasn't he played a killer, so he must have killed in real life"...What's that logic?!!!!
Between us, I'm not the one who's spouting stupidity here. The fact he played bullies in a show doesn't make him a bully in real life. If you don't have any argument, at least don't insult other.
"also changing the kids storyline just enough to add in a little girl getting abused by her adoptive parents…
Oh! So my hunch about the kids being adopted by Thee and Peach was rightđ€đ€ I'm glad!! I think they did this in the series to add drama. Which is stupid.
Sadly was highly disappointed at the lack of chemistry and bromance. The mystery part is great, but the lack of…
I think it's because they cut a lot of scenes between them. People who saw the initial first 8 episodes noticed that they were cut after the second release. I just read comments about this so I'm not sure.
pretty sure someone said it in the comments that the focus was too much on the story and less on the romance.…
I have to disagree. The drama wasn't focused on the story. I'd say, it was both "too focused on the romance and not enough on the story" and "too focused on the story and not enough on the romance". They wanted to make both, but they didn't succeed in any. For me, when the plot isn't only focused romance, the writing has to be good to include all different genre equally : The romance should be interesting and well developed. We need to feel their emotion and see it develop ON screen. Not just off screen romance that is told to us.đ It's the same thing for the story : it has to be well written. Especially when it's some crime/horror plot like here. Unfortunately writers (be it BL or straight romance) often fail in that.
In my case, I have to admit I didn't feel the chemistry between any of the couples. As for the plot, it was more frustrating than not. The horror isn't horrific enough (in this kind of plot, I felt like 1 or 2 main characters should die. But no one dies. I mean it's like the writers tried to make an atmosphere were they're "afraid for their lives" and we should feel afraid for them but I didn't feel afraid at all. I knew no one would die. I wish they had enough guts to kill some of them since they went for that vibe.
The investigation/crime part wasn't interesting. I'm someone who LOVES thriller/crime/investigation drama. I like uncovering the mysteries alongside the characters. When the story keeps me on the edge of my seat: what other clue are we going to discover? Who is the murderer ? And so on.
Anyway, I'll stop here even though I have a lot more to say about everything, from the characters to the story, including the "advertising breaks" that kept breaking the rhythm of the story..
Yes, as for me the whole Tawan - Aran and now Shohei arc is taking too much screen time for the interest I have…
It's 10 episodes, not 12. So next episode is the last :'( And yes, 10 episodes isn't enough for all the unnecessary subplots. They should have stopped at Thee/Peach love story.
Let me put it this way: the Aran-Tawan relationship is a perfect example of a toxic relationship in which one…
Not every person in a toxic relationship stays in a toxic relationship. Even in real life. A lot of people are able to leave. And the previous episodes showed just that : when Tawan went to Aran and Aran gave him that box with his belongings. It was meant to be the end. That how it happens in a lot of toxic relationships : the person who is abused lets finally go. Sadly, this episode made it like it never happened.
Unpopular opinion, but WilliamEst couple but Est cameo did not need to be in the series as PerthSanta were the…
In my case, I wish PerthSanta wasn't the side couple. Because if Santa's boyfriend was some other actor, maybe Tawan and Aran would have broken up. As they SHOULD
the changes they made to Tawan and Arans storyline made me so annoyed if they wanted them to end up together unlike…
"also changing the kids storyline just enough to add in a little girl getting abused by her adoptive parents " You mean it didn't happen in the novel ? Then that's so stupid and unnecessary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
About Tawan. I'm so mad for that move !!!! That's what I hate about GMMTV : they can't write a bad ending about their popular ships. It's so annoying. The way they wrote him in episode 9 was so OOC. You said that he didn't change but still ends with Aran. In my case, I felt like he changed. Well they pictured it that way : he told Thee about Shoei kid who wanted to kill him, the speech with Shoei kid about doing everything to please someone who'll never love him anyway (I felt it was some parallel to him and Aran), etc.
They tried to picture him like a changed and better man, but it's too late. We DIDN'T SEE that change. It happened off screen. I don't know if it makes things worse or not. I could have understood if he was a jerk at first but changed throughout the episodes, little by little. But the way they did it ? No!
Also since when Shoei kid and Tawan are friends ? I thought they just met not long ago and became accomplices. But in episodes 9, it's like they were childhood friends???
