Idr but she was described as someone with a “first love” face; spoiled personality; mom is wealthy. If helpful…
oh I was referring to the backless dresses and the mini skirts she’s wearing in specifically this drama. not in real life, obvs. girls wear bikinis nowadays or even nude. 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t typically see backless tops and mini skirts in Chinese dramas, you know, with strict censorship and all. curious, what other dramas have you seen where female leads are wearing stuff like her? backless and mini.
No. More like a tiny and vulnerable sparrow with an inner fiesty. This is just Esther Yu playing herself as usual.…
I guess that’s what I’m not a fan of. I feel like I’m watching Esther Yu and not Jiang Mu. it detracts from the drama for me. if I’m watching first frost, I’m watching Wen Yifan and how she interacts with Sang Yan. So I don’t really want to be seeing Esther Yu interacting with Jin Zhao. 😮💨 just my take.

hmmm bc I don’t usually see MINI skirts/skorts in Chinese dramas. and homegirl is wearing BACKLESS tops/dresses which I also rarely see. so it’s a bit distracting especially in a Chinese drama. things like this would usually be intentional (which is why I asked about her persona in the novel) otherwise, I’m getting slightly bothered by this fashion show of scantily clad fits when I just wanna watch the drama. 👉🏼👈🏼
I saw his sweat literally dripping down his face at the market!!! omg must have been super hot.
I rewatched it and I love his micro expression of disbelief when she shot back at him regarding him not wanting the puppy. it’s so hot and yet he’s still able to deliver his lines and execute the emotions. gawd I love this guy. what a way to end 2025. started with Sang Yan for me and now we get Jin Zhao. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yu Shuxin gets attacked relentlessly all the time and whenever she has an airing drama it goes up a notch even…
sounds like she gets attacked for literally existing. I’m glad you shared. also another commenter added that at times, her acting can look unnatural and likely stems from insecurity since netizens intentionally post unattractive photos of her. so cruel. it’s nice to know these things so we can have compassion!
can someone explain the scene where she puts hand in his side pockets to look for the keychain and then gets angry...…
ohhhh!!! hahaha when he asks what is she touching or searching for, I thought he was indirectly referring to his manhood. like girl what are you digging for in there? if you keep digging you’re going to find something. so when he asked, of course she gets embarrassed by his suggestive question. that was my take. someone pls correct me, maybe novel readers? was this in the book?
I may be wrong, but I think part of her unnatural acting comes from so much online bullying from cnetz, making…
oh man that sucks! thanks for sharing. off topic but your mid pause comment made me think of Olympic divers mid pause. have you seen them? hahaha they’re funny.
loving the subtlety and depth in their exchanges. as they walk through the broken road and he tells her don’t walk this road anymore, you won’t have anyone to grab onto. and she replies I wouldn’t walk this road with anyone else. brb bawling 😭
I’m scrolling through the comments and more than half are about her voice and her unnatural acting. I’ve never seen such a divide for any other actress. 😳 the truth is. if any other actor/actress created such a conflict amongst the viewers (regardless of skill), they’d automatically get axed by producers/directors. It’s a business in the end, head honchos want to make the MOST MONEY and appeal to the MOST PEOPLE.
So sometimes I wonder if the aversion to her is not really her voice or her acting but the injustice we see as regular common folk. The question really becomes if she wasn’t as rich as she was, if her father/family didn’t have so much pull in the industry, if she started out like any other actress, would she STILL get casted in these highly ancitipated roles? Maybe yes, maybe no.
