It occurs to me now that at its core, Leap Day is primarily concerned with determinism, free will and the stars. Interesting, very interesting – like a puzzle that needs to be put together.

I don't understand the game Go at all (Wikipedia somehow left me more confused), but the psychological import of the conflict between the aged master and his young student is fantastic. Two stones....two individuals. One game, one board and one world. Teacher vs student or 'Student surpassed the teacher' vs 'Poor is the teacher whose student does not surpass him'. Depends on the point of view.
This movie shows the changes of life.Relationships change, desires change, life is messy and still things go on. The traditions continue. It is a quiet and slow movie but It makes you think.
