Yeah, I lasted an hour of this boring mess and turned it off.

Basically, a lot of women get topless, people fuck, some dude's a junky... it's one of those slow-burn dramas I'm really not a fan of and the title was damn misleading (Vigilantes in this are Citizen Patrol; they wear bright yellow vests and walk around at night, acting like fake cops).
It's well made though, so others may like it. Who knows?

The word, FAGGOT, is something used to burn homosexuals tied to a stake with; it's where the term comes from to insult homosexuals, but does not necessary mean the word, itself, is an insult (there was even a brand of food called, FAGGOTS).

Usually, pre-sales are used to raise the money to make the film, so once the distributors make their expenses back (including marketing), it's profit.

The difference is that people see something cost €15,000,000 to make, and assume that, if it made €14,000,000, it was a flop.
Factor in sponsors, the fact that all cast and crew have already been paid and, for the producers, it's nowhere near as bad as it seems.

Looking at it from a distributor's angle: if China put in €2.5m and it makes €5m, the film is a hit in China.
If the USA had put in the same €2.5m and it only grossed €2, it's a flop in North America.
The difference is that the producers should still be seeing profits from China, so even if a film doesn't make its money back on paper, under a microscope, it may well have been pretty successful.


Anyway, it looks like it's not coming to cinemas where I am, so I'll have to check it out on Viki in a couple of years.

I didn't know what this film was about when I put it on; it started kind of cliché and then we got sudden gore so sickening, I actually felt ill and considered turning it off.
For someone who's seen a lot of Japanese gore pics, that says something. I guess those are just completely absurd, whereas this scene featured realistic brutality and sadism.

Moving on, the film doesn't really improve and relies heavily on copious amounts of blood to cover up for a weak screenplay.

Being Netflix, there's a needless gay blow-job scene. Gotta push the LGBT agenda!

I'm certain anyone reading this can find something a whole lot better to watch. You've been warned.
