My friend and I are both caught up on the webtoon (not the novel) this is based on. How much of it is adapted…
This is the opening arc and ends when the first train station is cleared. I haven't read any of the comic, but I imagine it's close - if not identical - to the book, so if you're still reading about the dude who has the Tower Defence skills, this might give something minor away; otherwise, you've nothing to worry about and you should definitely give this film a go - I really enjoyed it!
Wow, such much resentment - all completely unjustified!
A few years, I read about half of the novel; it's not that it was bad - it certainly started off superbly - but it dwindled out around half way and I accidentally closed the tab I was reading it on, losing my page. For an online book of this size, having no way to even remember what chapter I was up to, I simply gave up. Others swear by the comic and, on manga(/manhwa) sites, those fans are quite hardcore. I think that's why the low votes are so many and so fierce in their cussing of this film.
Let's be clear: THIS IS A VERY ENTERTAINING AND EXCELLENTLY WELL-MADE "POPCORN" FEATURE. People who love crap like, The Avengers, should really dig this; for those who prefer less CGI and more action: this has really cool characters and good motivations, so they should also give it a go anyway.
So what's it about?
Some dude read an online book - which took 10 or more years to complete and, come the ending, he was the only one left reading it! It turns out that the mysterious author was some powerful entity giving mankind a warning of the future... and the opportunity to change it. Too bad only the MC bothered to maintain interest.
What follows is a wild ride, with EXCELLENT direction... but with the whole film obviously reliant on CGI if it was to ever work. And that's probably something else that bothered viewers, as the creatures were a tad too computer-gamey... albeit, they clearly missed the point with the computer-style interface and power-ups.
To be fair, I gave this a 7/10 - it certainly held my attention much better than most recent Korean films have been able to(!) but, unfortunately, as it's clearly the opening arc in an intended series of films, it left a lot unexplained and ended with viewers knowing that there was more to come (even if this little scene was shown after 1 minute of the closing credits).
Another reason for the haters is because some chick from, Blackpink, apparently got a sub-character role. I couldn't tell you who she was, but all performances were done well.
Girlfriend /Wife is not annoying, It is an 8 episode/less than 1hr drama. Watch till the end.If you think she…
WTF? I read that without my brain - still hung-over, I think (Happy New Year, btw) - not acknowledging the spoiler warning... and it completely ruined the series!
You really should've hidden the spoiler behind a spoiler tag in a separate post.
I started watching this, turned it off due to some interruption... and I have never bothered going back to finish it! I mean: with dull characters, a stupid plot - if there even is one - and these dark knights of justice offing one another if caught on security camera (ffs), this was pretty much abysmal! Factor in how the fights were under-par and how completely illogical it was to invite a sadistic killer to the team, and the rating here looks preposterously high.
I had to read her bio to know who she was!Blackpink sucked arse, but that aside, she's an absolutely stunning…
Happy New Year!
I'm not too into series - especially Korean romances (albeit, I don't mind the occasional crime-action/thriller), so I had to look, Snowdrop, up. I knew that some chick from, Blackpink, was in a zombie series, but I don't know which one, and I don't like zombies, so I'll skip that too.
Saying that, I did quite enjoy that Joseon-set zombie one.
all the people coming at jisoo are crazy haters!did you even watch the movie?she barely had 5 min cameo, and boom, she's…
I had to read her bio to know who she was! Blackpink sucked arse, but that aside, she's an absolutely stunning woman, so I can see why she made the cross-over to acting (hot looks makes up for a lot of no talent in Hollywood, after all).
So since you didn’t understand and disliked this movie, everyone else just pretends to like it to show class.…
Well, you had 2 comments here and now there's only one.
Edit: I'm adding your own words: "So since you didn’t understand and disliked this movie, everyone else just pretends to like it to show class. Just wow…"

A year too late, but I love the way you immediately make the presumption that, because the dude hates art-house, those films are below his IQ level - it kind of reveals how he had at least a partially valid point to begin with!
Personally, I hate how pretentious and OVERLY LONG most art-house shit is; the rest being just boring with pretty shots.
I've been putting off this festival darling for some time due to its running length but, coming back to it now, it just reminds me of other shit like, Driving Miss Daisy and, Dude Fucked My Wife, So I'm Going to Drive Around with Him in a Taxi - or whatever that highly forgettable Korean cringe was.
Anyway, certainly not original and I personally prefer films in which the duo WALK (Sunset trilogy, Adrift in Tokyo, etc.), I think I'm going to remove this from my viewing list.
I gave it a 7.5.To be honest, the villain was pure evil and actually terrifying! For a pretty slow flick, this…
Where I can't comment on the Asian mentality for rating film & series, I often wonder why sites still use the 10/10 rating, as pretty much nothing ever attains a 10 - from me, at least - and anything people don't like, they rate a 1/10! It's ridiculous that people used to log into sites just to bring down the rating of a film that hasn't even been released yet, just because they didn't like a performer in it, the director, or someone had said something they objected to (usually some anti-woke remark... which is why the despicable "cancel-culture" won the internet for a while, before people realised what it was and stood up to it).
Not too long ago, someone made a snide comment because I dared to give, Weak Hero, a 6.5. The simple facts were: the series had a REALLY crappy start and the rest didn't hold any weight against the comics. But 6.5 still isn't a bad score - it's above average!
On MDL, a 5 or 6 is typically bad and, where users of this site are less prone to hating on projects with the (often unjustified) 1/10, it's almost as if they believe that, if someone rates something they liked under an 8, it's a personal attack!
But that's a conditioning issue designed to divide people, which we'd best not go into.
Haha, what a funny review. I wouldn't have seen the all this if you didn't tell me. But I still quite enjoyed…
Thanks - I'm genuinely glad that my words were able to convince you to give it a go, despite its shortcomings. The fact that you enjoyed it gives hope that others will also give it a try (and hopefully sit through it long enough to appreciate how damn good it actually is).
To be honest: I found this to be very disappointing - the real action took too long to come and was underwhelming when it did, the characters were all shallow with motivations we've seen a million times before, and the MC was stupidly super-human, like an '80s action star, when we were led to believe this was more realistic, like the classic, A Bittersweet Life. I did complete the series and I'd even recommend genre fans to give it a go - since we all like different things - but, for me, this could have been a lot better.
NOTE: there's nothing wrong with OP MCs when he uses his brains to tip the scales and/or the fights are realistic, but this is just a dude strolling - sorry, LIMPING - around, One Punch Man-ing everyone, despite his moderate frame being highly doubtful to generate such power.
Hmm, I just came across this (well, Part 2, actually) and I wondered if it was any good.Your enthusiasm has prompted…
Thanks for clearing that up. It's a little too late now to start it, and last night I was too busy with work stuff, but hopefully I can check it out over the weekend.
Rewatch in 2025. This show kicks serious butt! It gets even better with every rewatch (there's been a few lol).…
Hmm, I just came across this (well, Part 2, actually) and I wondered if it was any good. Your enthusiasm has prompted me to give it a go later this evening.
Hmm, I just noticed that the programme has 18 episodes and 2 series - the second being Sword of Arthdal. Can I safely assume that this 2021, 18-episode series combines BOTH this and the sequel?

I guess you've skipped a load of 90-120 minute superhero flicks.

Do yourselves a favour and watch the 10,000 times better, A Company Man: https://mydramalist.com/4008-a-company-man

But, let's agree to not argue.

At least we agreed on the film being sub-par aside from a few good moments.
Your enthusiasm has prompted me to give it a go later this evening.
