This S2 has a happy ending, also the novel. But the story is different for TV series and Novel. I don't know who writes that FL and ML broke up in the novel. Just watch the Ep 40 slowly and read the last chapter of novel slowly to find the truth.
The rating is so bad for my long awaited S2 so I have to watch it and it is not that bad as long as you can tolerate EP 1. :D Just skip some bg story rewind if you have watched S1 cos S1 did so well already so they don't have to repeat it differently. But for the Novel you might have to read from the start cos Chu Qiao was actually an agent from another world. She died and when she opened her eyes she was in this world. Novel also include S1 ending and when its continue to S2, it was so good. :D
I recommended all of you to read the Novel from the start. But you can watch this too as they performed well and for their effort for S2. So, I give it 7/10. But why must they change the story quite a lot. 😭

Some arc were so fast. I was disappointed that Li Ce doesn't have martial art in S2. I watched to Ep 23 at normal rate, from then, on I skipped to know what is happening or are they just dreaming cos I watched ep 40 first and it was so confusing. In ep 40, everyone seems to be alive but no. It just shows that they would have been alive if they made a different choice. So Yea, most died but FL's dream came true I guess.

SML is more fun and much better than both main leads. I don't ship him with anyone in this drama, especially with FL. He should just let both main leads die instead of saving them.
