He knows she loves him. But he is still in denial of his own feelings. She hesitates to tell him she loves him…
I AGREE! If she were more direct, he would be no different. He doesn't understand his own feelings so he'd just keep hurting her.

Hate to be the bearer of negativity but female lead can’t act! She remains with the same flat, Stiff expression…
Agree to disagree.

Can you blame her?
No! I don't blame her at all. I don't blame her for calling it off or allowing herself to be seduced over and over. She said their relationships is addictive and it's playing out that way on screen.

Addiction is never healthy.

I guess what I find most surprising about this drama is that--of the two--Luan Nian is actually the more insecure one in the relationship. Don't get me wrong, they're both insecure, but he's the one throwing tantrums, pens, and umbrellas.

Shang Zhi Tao seems to always have one foot out the door, ready to leave, expecting it all to end, so I do understand why Luan Nian is insecure. She has already walked away from him three times since they first hooked up (right after their ONS she said it was a mistake and then avoided him; then again after his ski trip she called it off; then in the last episode when he called her submissive and cheap she walked away and blocked him). Only this last time does he seem to realize that his words were/are hurtful and try to make amends (but he's never directly apologized).

This is now a pattern. They spend some time together; he becomes insecure / feels unsafe or confused; instead of communicating his feelings, he lashes out ("You left your bag in my house on purpose." "You're delusional." "You're cheep and submissive.") She then leaves him/breaks it off. He chases her until she relents. The cycle starts again.

don't know if it's only me but i cringed so hard at the scene where he compliments her in the meeting, it just…
Agree. I understood what he was doing (first, trying to apologize; second, trying to show he can be "like Alex" and speak to her with respect) but it was extremely hard to watch.

I genuinely need people to explain to me how Shang Zhitao is the “red flag” in this situation, because I feel…
Agree. Agree. Agree.

Have we talked about the fact that Luke flicked her HARD and she couldn't even bring herself to flick him at all? She's so soft for him.
Makes me really anxious to find out what he does exactly to make her want to cut him out of her life. . .

Do y'all have some recommendations for dramas like this? I'm really enjoying this so far and am curious if there…
Nevertheless (KDrama or JDrama version, both have same intensity)

That look was intense.
I wonder what the director's note was...
"Okay. Here, you're going to lean forward, place your chin on her knees, and give her puppy dog eyes."
