I saw it as her friend had her eyes on Yichen long before he broke up with JX and manipulated him leading up to the breakup, by feeding his insecurities. After Yichen dumped JX she really didn't wait she was pursuing him almost straight away constantly at his home or work and spent no time consoling JX. They are both trash. She was never a friend to JX a friend wouldn't do that.

I still have 3 episodes left and I'm holding out for karma maybe Yichen leaves her for someone else ? please lol

And Agreed just no need for it she should have ended up with Mei Xing as he never really got a good ending.
Could have a third season with their reincarnations getting a good ending.

I have finished both now, I had to take a break in the middle of this though, while I watched One and Only in a week.
I think I found some of this one a little to low key and subtle for my personal taste maybe?

He pretty much helped raise her, she lived with him when she was younger, and she has been in love with him since she was a kid. He had recently decided that when she has recovered he was going to take care of her for the rest of her life, I'm assuming he would have married her.

That is one of my few gripes with the show, I would have liked a little more connectivity with the prequel, Not loads of flashbacks but something more. I thought it was a little to light touched and subtle.

I would HIGHLY recommend watching the prequel first.
Although like KittyMeowMeow says the prequel does have a sad ending it sets up the sequel, you know the history of their past lives you know why they do certain things etc.

Great show, but I could not bring myself to give it 10/10 like it's prequel. 9/10 is still great.

- Would have like more connectivity with the prequel, Shi Yi had some dreams, and memories occasionally but not much throughout a 30 episode show, and Zhou Sheng Chen barely had any other than after he read her diary when she was in a coma, he called Xi'an by it's ancient name without noticing until the security said he hadn't heard of Chang'an, Although he does believe her completely, would have been nice if there was something more.
- Wen Xing and Mei Xing, Dear god there storylines seriously any need, thinking about it other than the Main leads and her friend I don't think anyone else got a nice ending here. Why did her brother need to go so far that he got his sister killed (Pretty much)
- The show does get a little draggy around Episode 17 -18 I actually finished 18 and didn't come back to it for I think 4 months then binge watched the last 12 episodes in less than 3 days. I don't remember that with "One and Only" sure I watched that entire show in maybe 4 days.

The slow burn romance didn't bother me as their chemistry is spot on, I think it was the family stuff that I found a little annoying, Step mother's relationship with her mother is frosty due to the 2nd uncle and the kids etc, but she pretty much put her sons wife in the same position she was in ?

Anyway definitely worth a watch just for Bai Lu.

Although none of what read is 100% guaranteed true, and no one is ever punished (other than basically a slap like Burning Sun, seriously ), it seems that this is prevalent in the industry not just Asian but Hollywood and still seems to happen.
I', surprised girls go into the business over there with the amount of stories there is, maybe they see it as trade for escaping poverty who knows.

Actually hadn't read about the actress you mentioned, some people say she may have been taught a lesson, which I've come across stories of Hong Kong actresses in the early 90's would turn down a particular classification of movies which was basically soft porn, they would be nude and were well known so would sell tickets, they say no but the people behind them were gangsters would have them gang **** etc to do it.

If you meant the character, don't you think he was a bit psycho, and definitely was a bit of a sexual predator or at least controlling and manipulative?
I am at episode 19 but have seen a lot to make a decision,
- Using he's her cure bit to try and be with her, knowing he isn't.
- Blackmailing his brother to seduce her in turn for the fake cure.
- And worst of all using the psychiatrist's hypnosis to control and trick her. Which is most definitely some form of coercive assault.

I haven't watched this yet, But from the descriptions and comments it sounds a bit like the UK series "Black Mirror".

Probably will give it a go, also got a feeling am going to be triggered by I think it is episode 2 the cheating one.
