Fantastic show None of the characters are really likable even the ML.- ML was willing to keep FL in a coma, but…
Just remembered the scene when the ML partially blames the rape/attempted murder victim for what happened to her for going to the actors room, I mean what the actual fu*k. Real hero he is.
Fantastic show None of the characters are really likable even the ML. - ML was willing to keep FL in a coma, but he only saved her when Do Joon backed out of sending his sister to America to be cured. - Do Joon obviously is evil for what he did, but when he was younger he protected his sister, and he got messed up along the way. --Chae Yeong WTF Her father basically killed her lover by destroying his family business resulting in his suicide, and then she aborted the baby so that she would marry Do Joon. She is also aware that Yeo Jin is being held prisoner in a coma and was planning on putting in one herself to control the company, then as soon as Yeo Jin is out and Do Joon is dead she is all I miss him I should have been better to him, then plans to murder Seo Jin. - Seo Jin is probably in my mind the most innocent, she was born into the viper's nest, lost her mother at a young age, and was raised to be spoilt and ruthless to takeover the company, then her brother, love of her life and his father, conspire to seduce and set her up so she loses the company, only for her brother to try and kill her and her ass of a boyfriend when he is betrayed, Then she's kept in a coma (waking) for years, gets out tries to get revenge (understandably I mean I thought she was a little soft on them personally) but then everyone and their mothers was still ( and even before she was out of the coma) trying to either control her, kill her or put her back in the coma or have her committed. So she had very good reasons to behave the way she did,
Great show. I watched it all in less than 2 days. /101 - The random comments about Si Young's hair, just why she looks amazing and she is playing a doctor and 2nd-year resident at that, They work like 14 - 16 hours a day, and they don't have time to do their hair, I work in a hospital and see doctors every day the female doctors here look like models in comparison. 2 - Comments about her crying, I personally get it her father falls off a mountain then he makes her let go, but he survives and is in a coma for a year and she blames herself, then she falls for ML who is obviously unavailable for obvious reasons. 3 - Comments about her being treated badly by the ML, she really isn't he is straight up with her and tells her that he could die literally at any minute and he doesn't want to put her through that, if anything he is being selfless to point of isolating himself to avoiding harming her. (Obviously, that happens because he ignores but I understand why he does it). 4 - Am I the only one who thinks there may be a chance he never killed the killer, I had the impression he just took the blame to cover for the mother.
Other than that fantastic show no stupid love triangles, no over-elaborate plot twists, and Minimal romance but it's there. Solid 9.5/10
New to Kdramas this May (as well as Chinese and Taiwanese not as many). I finished about 35 and am partway through another 15. So far I have only watched 6 on your list "Healer" & "My Lover is from another star" are both fantastic I think I gave 9.5 out of 10 for both, but my favourite so far and I have watched it three times since May is "The beauty inside" Seo Hyun Jin was amazing am working my way through her work now "Why Her" fantastic as well. one that I never saw on your list which I loved was "That Winter, the Wind Blows"
it's because the asian entertainment industry relies heavily on the parasocial aspect of the relationship with…
1st comment you made made me think you disagreed with me and Westerns shouldn't have opinions on toxic fans & the industry but your 2nd comment fully agrees with although much more clearly than I put it.
The way characters and plot were written is just so endearing and fulfilling. Especially the badass Yi Seo and…
Am only 2 episodes in and have a strong dislike of Soo Ah she was instantly willing to testify against Sae Roy, even before Daehee said what he wanted for the money for school, then she tells Saeroy she won't be with him unless he is rich, and although I'm not up to it yet she actually works for Daehee, she seems very transactional, money-centric person, true my opinion may change but as I know she whistle blows, in the end, sounds like she grows a conscience, And doesn't deserve happiness with Saeroy. Will have to see if I still think that at the end.
What happened to this poor girl makes me sick (very new to Korean TV) nothing ever happened to the rapists, this was 2009 there must be evidence oh there was and it got covered up I even question the suicide she was reportedly happy days before due to finally escaping (the prospect of) that agency. Did the sister get paid off to lie they had received cash later parents died in 1999 they were probably desperate explains how she got in the situation and it isn't difficult for rich and powerful men to get away with it, one on the list his wife was a prosecutors as well as evidence went missing and it came out in 2019 police had been threatened? If it was all true I read she was with that agency for barely a year 31 men known men named not counting repeat offenders she had been drugged and raped pretty much on a weekly basis for a year (and there will be others) including men from the TV show that was her big break which isn't even a leading role so had to suffer that indignity of seeing them and following orders.
If it did happen which am certain it did from the stuff I've read or watched and the fact this isn't the only case I came across like this the even if it was suicide I would hold each man accountable for her death each rape she suffered was tightening the noose they in my eyes should be held culpable and charged for at least manslaughter or something the laws need to account for situations like this that lead to suicides.
Hello, just verifying.. so it was confirmed that Anxin was the stepfather biological daughter?
If I am honest i'm not 100% sure, Am 99% sure the stepmother swapped the samples as she worked at the lab back then, I may have missed something confirming it but it was heavily implied that was what happened. But i had checked out by then and watched it for the sake of finishing it. I felt a lot of things that happened where never completely explained what the motivation was, I guess like I did make it up yourself.
As a guy I cannot stand the character Liu Liu, I am on episode 11 she has admitted her boyfriend is constantly cheating and she's fine with it basically because he has money, She's more of a doormat than FL, and is insanely giving advice to FL?
Edit : - Now finished the show was great, not fantastic and I wouldn't rewatch it any time soon.
As for LiuLiu still annoys me I mean get rid of You Chendao and your mom, she even feels at fault for betraying him by using him to leave your village because he had money, Seriosuly is I had money and a hot girl was willing to be with me and leave with me who I barely know I would sure as hell know that was the reason, Yet she stays with him faithfully and even runs his business for him, while he is sleeping with as many women as he wants, yet she says with him and even says it was partially her fault, no matter why she got with him that doesn't forgive that behaviour just break up with her.
I am on episode 21 and unless something else is uncovered, then Anxin's stepfather is her biological father, after her stepmother swapped the DNA samples after her birth making her father think she isn't his, resulting in her mother losing it eventually and killing herself. Her mother was intelligent right she helped Ling Yue father build his company and loved Anxin's father and assumed she hadn't cheated, So if that's right she KNEW he was the father so one of 3 things happened 1- Baby swapped in hospital by accident 2- False negative test 3- Someone falsified the test
So why did she not fight it knowing who the father is and demand multiple tests at different locations?
if answer in the final episodes no reply needed thanks
Edit : Finally finished, people in the comments below are right about the second half of the show I went through the 1st 13 or 14 episodes in maybe 24 hours or less lol, then I must have lost serious interest as it took almost a week to finish the last 10 I even watched 2 other shorter shows and am 15 episodes into Love Now ( Taiwanese show) and about 10 in Boss and me (Chinese 2014), I would start a episode and lose interest as soon as Ling Sheng or Xiner popped on screen lol.
Anyway my initial comment was never answered they never even bring it up again even Axin say's she can't forgive her yet, but it is in the past (your mum is dead because of her seriously) Also other than greed and I covet what you had was there a reason the stepmother did it as Axin's mother was meant to be her best friend according to the show?
Anyway ML and FL were great together was a bit wary of the ML as they looked weird together and that hair but he grew on me Zhao Lusi definitely the star, After watching Who Rules the World I had to give this ago due to her, Not as good as with Yang Yang but it was the best part of the show there relationship and the betrayal etc.
Ling Sheng and Xiner I mean seriously I could not stand either of them, bit annoyed she is pretty much going to forgive him and wait for him to get out of prison, he planned and tried to murder people love get a grip girl he is freaking nuts (Clearly she is a bit too), I could have done with less of them and more of Ling Chang and the other couples.
The two bad guys saw that coming from maybe episode 1 I can't remember but probably the Comic relief (Red Hering) bad guy in the form of Brother Ling Chang was clearly a misdirect but was still enjoyable.
Overall worth a watch for Zhao Lusi, I would never rewatch it at 24 episodes of 45 minutes it felt like 100 hours.
it's because the asian entertainment industry relies heavily on the parasocial aspect of the relationship with…
(Edit the comment I was responding to was deleted) Telling anyone what they should do is wrong whether you are Western or Asian or if the person being told they can't do this or date is a celebrity or not. If your fan enjoy their music, films etc. and leave their personal lives out of it I feel sorry for them.
Being a toxic fan has nothing to do with were you are from.
P.s I have just reread your post the Translation part is the most idiotic thing I have read, True some Westerners think they do things better than other cultures but at the same time other cultures are the same. But you have basically put because the international (I.e Westerners) don't agree with this we are ? Thing is International fans love the artists etc and simply don't thing the stars should hounded to the extent where careers are ruined and in some cases from what I have read lead to suicides which I find terrifying, and scary that that is ok because that is what is normal in Asia, if that was the norm here in the UK I would be thinking and saying the exact same thing they are not being protected and are basically being pimped out be their employers as they are owned by you the fan anything is possible they are single you can date them if you only met them etc.
it's because the asian entertainment industry relies heavily on the parasocial aspect of the relationship with…
Thanks for a straightforward & simple explanation. That type of fandom is just wrong. Basically, they were being told you can't live lol. And obviously, most will be dating, etc. and unless you are delusional all fans will know they are but when it comes out they go nuts and try to have their idol canceled.
Obviously the media, agents, studios etc have made this what it is.
I never realised dating was taboo in Asia bit of a culture shock.
