Ah... I am beginning to think this drama explores taboo relationships.

I think Dilraba is so exquisite all her leading men are a bit intimidated or bashful at first. Wu Lei’s ears turned bright red in many scenes with her in TLB. The dialogue may help a bit but not much tbh.

I suspect she is meant to be with piggyback dude.

Yeah they have a much more engaging and spontaneous chemistry. I love that actor Ci Sha, I hope he goes places.

Every time he puckers up I can hear the refrain from that song from The Little Mermaid that goes something like "you gotta kiss the girl.."

True - I guess we can just consider those fishy kisses in character for a merman. 😜

Yeah I kind of agree with that. I think this director has gotten good at directing and shooting Dilraba after so many projects with her but he is not really doing Ren Jialun justice. All those close up 3/4 face shots from the side of the screen just don't capture his micro expressions properly. And too many insipid kissing scenes don't help. I also think Chang Yi the character so far is a bit two dimensional but hopefully he will go through growth and development.

Any other dude would be way more excited to be kissing Dilraba but Ren Jialun just looks like he fears for his life in a way that has nothing to do with covid... 😱🤔

Tbh I kind of wish they'd skipped them - they look super fake and lacking in passion . He is really good at conveying intense longing with his eyes I half feel like those uninspired pecks actually detract from the moments.

My friend at Youku promised to communicate to Huace how eagerly overseas fans are waiting for the subs.

I took a look at the kissasian subs they look like it was initially machine translated but someone went in to try to clean it up. That is a very messy way to try to do it and no proper translator will do it that way. Their command is not very good either and most of the more sophisticated ideas or emotions are not properly captured. I only skimmed parts of it but it seems to me that only about 70pct of the meaning is there.

I didn’t read the novel but even I have the impression he removed his tail too soon and a bit too easily almost??? Not sure how to put it but it was built up to be such a monumental crossroad that the way it was delivered could have been better. I love Ren Jialun but his portrayal so far seems a bit lacking in intensity.

It’s said to be like a female NIF. Someone gave me the book but I haven’t gotten round to reading it yet.

I like the LOA director a lot more but I am not sure Anle the character is as interesting as Yunhe.
