Changge and Leyan have parallel experiences so they both lose a younger "brother" and also can empathise with Mimi who (eye roll) also loses a (real) brother. Sigh!

1.) Mobei and Monan are adjacent grassland tribes subjugated by the Great Khan. Changge wants them to seek an alliance with Tang, thus undermining the Great Khan from all sides. This follows loosely what happened in history:

2.) Not sure what exactly happens but even if Eagle division is disbanded the men could form a new division under Mujin or join other divisions. Although the show only shows 3 most elite divisions - Bear, Eagle and Wolf, I am sure there are many more. Ultimately they are all loyal to the Great Khan and the grassland is their home. As Changge pointed out, Khatun will never give up until Ashile Sun is dead. After that, she has no more reason to go after his men.
3.) Everyone knows after Mimi confesses to Changge and tells her her brother is a hostage, I forget which episode. Mujin sneaks into Dingxiang palace to try to save her brother.
4.) They started to figure out after Tukhashe brought orders to Ashile Sun to mobilise troops and once Khatun's involvement became evident, it looked very suspicious. Even the dumb-ass She'er could tell something was not right. This part of the plot IMHO is weak - I could not believe the Khan's followers would take orders from Khatun based on her flimsy story and the military seal. Remember how Changge was laughed at when she tried to mobilise one of her father's old generals with Li Shimin's seal.
5.) I don't remember everything she said but she was very sad for how much her mother had suffered. She also acknowledged that the situation was far more complex than she had originally believed and questioned whether she should seek justice if her mother had actually been the one to set in motion those events.
6.) They planned to live together in seclusion/exile.
7.) Khatun moved to Dingxiang Palace, I assume her former home when she was a Sui princess. It was a Sui city in the grasslands near the Tang border and is now part of the grassland territory. This is also where Mimi is from and where she thinks her brother is held hostage by Khatun.

LOL, don't worry about the age gap, it is not noticeable at all. The story is great and both leads are really killing their roles.

I guess in the context of the drama, Changge was the child he could never have with the love of his life. Of course he doted on her more than his own children.

Idk why either but it is interesting that Li Shimin, Wei Zheng and Du Ruhui all had disappointing heirs. Maybe they spent too much time on matters of state and border wars. Maybe it is bad karma from executing all of his brother's sons.

I think they must have known each other, they worked in HK for rival newspapers. I imagine its like the c-dramas today - you see one drama about weaving and suddenly another 3 pop up. I would say though as far as parodies go, it would still be a fail IMHO.

I was planning to ration myself and only watch 1 episode a day but that obviously did not happen.

I believe he must have spoken to at least Wei Zheng, who brought new identity documents for Changge to her mother's memorial hall; ie, he knew she was there.

I love the scheming, cunning look on Changge's face in the frozen last scene of 41.

Wei Zheng brought new identity documents for Changge so that she can legally reside in Chang'an.
They were debating the merits of the proposed alliance with Mobei and the risks that Mobei is insincere and only seeking this alliance because they are pushed to the wall. Both Changge and Sun said simultaneously that even then, it is worth it.
