I actually did not pass any judgement on whether the CCP's censorship rules are appropriate or not. But there is a lot of vitroil here directed at the censors themselves and I am pointing out they are just ordinary people, worker bees whose jobs are to enforce the rules, they don't make them.

Actually I have been told that many of these censors don't really ideologically subscribe to any of those guidelines either and some actually quite enjoy watching the dramas on a personal level. They are just doing their job and implementing the letter of the law but many don't go out of their way to over-interpret the guidelines either. That is why it is still possible for us to get a lot of the stuff that "sneaked into" this and other productions. But of course they are not going to let overt violations through but just looking at WOH, I would say the censors that worked on this one were pretty cool.

Sigh! She missed the biggest clue - Deng Kuan's kid was practicing WKS's martial arts moves. That's the whole point of showing us those moves in the bonus clip. By clear implication, WKS is still around bc that is not Four Seasons manor moves but WKS from his father.
Its on open happy ending which means it is heavily hinted that it was a happy ending but at surface it looks sad/open…
No they are together at the end but it appears like one may have gave up his life to save the other. And then there is a bonus episode that hints that actually they both survived and became immortals. You have to put the clues together to decide whether its happy or not but it is heavily heavily implied it is happy.

Yeah he definitely is bored with life and being immortal since his friend died has been lonely for him. He said he now understands he was meant to live that long to give the younger generation a chance. So I also think he sacrificed for them. RIP YBY, my favorite character.
Sadly I suspect that will be a long wait. It wasn't mentioned in Tencent's pipeline for 2Q - I am not talking about what is on the fan pages but what was just communicated to investors this week. Usually what they tell investors is much more accurate. So I hope it comes soon but I would be quite surprised.

Indeed. It is kind of an open ending but if you believe WKX and ZZS survived to become immortals, that is the only logical explanation. Otherwise the extra 7 mins makes no sense.

That was his father's name originally. He changed it to Zhen when he was adopted by the master of Immortal Physician Valley. After they banished him from the sect, he reverted to his original name. Thus Wen Kexing also continued to use Wen.
