I think I may have missed the connection between Shifu, Hong Fu and the Ghost leader. Can someone explain?

I'm quite enjoying it even though I don't think its a well told story at all. The action scenes are pretty good though. Its so expensive these days to shoot a proper war drama these days I kind of understand why they chose to focus on the romance instead.

Yeah S/S+ dramas rarely make as good returns as lower budget dramas. But the platforms still invest in them bc when they are huge hits, the pay off is very big and their revenue can continue for many years. They also are what attract paying subscribers so they have to do them to grow/keep their paying subscriber base.

Indeed. I was just curious as I am personally also skeptical of Zhou Ye's general but when I did some research I found some interesting things. As you point out, lots of these big, brawny, alpha male types got themselves (and their men) killed dead before they could advance.

While height, size and strength is definitely a combat advantage, I want to point out that a few of the greatest generals in Chinese history had none of those advantages:
Sun Bin (3 Kingdoms) was crippled.
Zhuge Liang (3 Kingdoms) was scrawny and skinny; he could only carry a fan on the battlefield.
Wei Qing and Huo Qubing (Han Dynasty - coming soon The Fated General) were not exceptionally big or tall they were just fleet footed cavalry experts.
Yue Fei (Song Dynasty) - was not known for his size, he was just a terrific archer.
AND drum roll - the great Cao Cao (3 Kingdoms) - recorded as short and unimposing in stature.

I totally understand why many international viewer watch her. There aren’t many good English speaking reviewers out there. I hate spoilers so I don’t really watch or read them but there are many good Chinese reviewers out there.

She is trying to make a living out of her channel but got bored with watching idol dramas long ago. She should just watch and review content she genuinely enjoys but unfortunately to make $$$ she keeps chasing the popular dramas with traffic actors which to be honest most people grow out of eventually.

No not at all - I don’t watch YSX I can’t take her voice and I am bored with Lusi’s same same acting I am sorry for her struggles but I won’t miss her dramas.

I don’t know her specific likes or dislikes anymore but that sounds like her.

There is no right or wrong, reviews are just other people’s opinions we can individually choose to agree or disagree. And a 10.0 rating lacks credibility and objectivity in the same way a 1.0 rating does. The truth if there is such a thing is more likely to be somewhere in between.

I don’t know - I was told she was just a failed voice dubber in the industry. She carries a lot pf professional envy and resentment in her critiques.

She is particularly abusive bc she also bashes the actors with said tree. It’s fine if she wants to criticize their acting but a lot of times it devolves into very personal attracts. I blacklisted her after what she did to Zhang Zhehan and haven’t watched her since.
