When you says "forced acting" you mean Yu Shu Xin/Zhao LuSi unnatural over-the-top type of acting or you…
Lmao you just threw shade at two birds with one stone! I do think WXY is way more talented than those two but he is very young and there are parts that his acting misses the moment.

I have just seen avenue x review of the drama and her view pretty much aligns with the crowd who dropped the show…
Avenues is a troll I stopped watching ages ago bc she is so long winded, nasty and boring. I remember she is particularly bad at reviewing mystery dramas bc she is one of those that jumps to conclusions too early and misses the forest bc she bangs her head against the trees. If you insist on continuing to waste time watching her than go for all the dramas she hates - with few exceptions, she is a very reliable contrarian indicator.

Its rating would be at least 8.9 without the trolls
Those trolls are right now probably desperately trying to pretend they liked it from the start!!!šŸ˜…šŸ˜†šŸ˜‚

It's like they ran a reverse 华山č®ŗ剑 to crown the shittiest writers in China. And the 5 finalists were each…
Imagine the hubris of
anyone who thinks they can write JY’s best characters’ backstories. I would never… and this atrocity explains why.

I think even as Yesha he liked bonding with them. Those are people linked to his beloved brother. The only reason…
I still think that while it was hypocritical of Beikun of all people to be Yesha 2.0, some of his revenge is arguably still justified, maybe not on behalf of himself but for the other innocent victims. Revenge is a complicated topic, in some ways there is no right or wrong answer. And that was Zhong's most important lesson to himself and to Beiming - do the ends justify the means?

You're right. In the end, YeSha is the definition of "made to become a villain, and not born to be a villain".…
Its that old debate of nature vs nurture. As Beiming said, he would never have been able to do what Beikun did. And Beiming owns their dad's role in this whole fiasco whereas Beikun only wanted the formula for the pill.

I am willing to give it extra points for the whole speech in front of the emperor. I mean - for a Chinese drama…
Emperor best not dare to hurt him. In case that dratted pill ever resurfaces, he still carries the antidote in his blood.

I think even as Yesha he liked bonding with them. Those are people linked to his beloved brother. The only reason…
I think the writer originally intended to have Zhong give Beikun to the poison master, Bei Hai's sect brother. That would have made a lot more sense and would have been in character. I say this bc Bei Hai's pill is ē–¾é£Žäøø (JĆfēng WĆ”n) or Swift WIND Pill. Coroner Feng's name 风ęø…굊 (Fēng QÄ«ng Zhuó) can be translated as "WIND Purge" or "Cleansing WIND". But maybe they decided to make Bei Kun Tong Shuang instead bc they managed to cast an actor that looks enough like Wang Xingyue to be siblings. I don't have a huge problem with this creative choice bc it also works but it does make Bei Kun's motive seem hypocritical (his father made the pill and urged the late emperor to use it). Whereas if Tong Shuang/Yesha were just an ordinary Haiya orphan like Miao Jie, his hate would have been more understandable. Its not a fatal flaw, it just made some of the character motivations of both Zhong and TS seem a bit iffy.

General Tong's first instinct was to kill all the Haiya kids but the others stopped him. He probably always felt contempt for him and after Miao Jie, was the absolute worse person Zhong could have entrusted Beikun with.

Excellent drama from start to finish. What I love is that they kept us second guessing ourselves. In the end,…
Well the general had no sons of his own yet so maybe he didn’t want to adopt someone else’s son as the eldest. But Tong already had a son of his own so it didn’t matter.

I have mixed feelings about the final episodes.I appreciate that it had a happy ending, but the events stemming…
ā€œTong Shuang’s revenge didn’t seem very credible, ā€œ
This!!! His motive would have been better if he weren’t Bei Hai’s son but just another Haiya orphan who was collateral damage to everything that happened.

Yeah it would have been more in character for Zhong to give the other kid to the poison master who was a sect brother of Bei Hai or the spy master (or someone in the capital) so that the brothers could grow up together.

Yeah it was a big misdirect.

if you go back to watch it carefully he had many suspicious scenes including the one where he pretty much gave Qing Ying the knife to kill herself with.

It was excellent casting. I just hate that Zhong gave him to Tong Xin who was obviously an asshole instead of Bei Hai’s sect brother.

His voice changed after he claimed his identity as Yesha. It became a voice that sounds uncannily like WXY's (but I personally think its close but it is not WXY's voice).
