Actually it is not explicitly prohibited in NRTA guidelines although child actors (usually targeting younger actors) are not allowed to portray adult roles. Light kiss scenes have been filmed by minor actors in many teen dramas and is quite common nowadays. But it is a bit risky for the production bc if the censors don’t like how the intimate scenes are shot it will have to be edited and may have to go through censorship again. It is also far more likely Ai Mi has contractual protection herself - ie she doesn’t want to do them yet. Wu Lei was contractually protected from kiss scenes until he turned 21. Ren Jialun allegedly still has such protections in his late thirties.

I don’t mind so much they want to put him on the throne. They could have just cut his sceeen time and just not write him to be such a waffle and focus on other subplots instead or without involving him in the GT’s shenanigans. Well I hope it turns out well since you are watching it but the last Cao Dun drama that bored me out of my skull only had 8 episodes and I couldn't even make it to the midpoint. I do want to watch Win or Die even though I think it is more likely to be Die rather than Win.
