I so agree specifically with the righteousness part..if she smh knew what MJH was going through she'd propose…
Yes, I feel bad for her. Bc no matter what, I think she loses in the end. In life, you have to choose a side. If you are too impartial, you are the lonely last woman standing.

General Yin is rejecting Crown Prince, the same way Prince Jing is rejecting General Yin. She refuses to call…
If I remember correctly, in the novel Jinghe loved Luomei until pretty much almost the end. He just was not the man she expected him to be. She should be one of those suffocatingly righteous characters that is almost impossibly impartial. The drama shows that too. She dislikes both Prince Jinghe and the CP's use of trickery and unscrupulous methods to win. Its not realistic bc in a battle for the throne, if you fight fair, you are just another forgotten dead prince that failed.

I actually really like Luomei and I feel bad for her. I think she truly loves MJH but is just disappointed he is not the man she wants him to be. But she isn't love brained either. She is just too righteous to the point of pompousness. They just don't suit in that most important aspect.

Thanks for your impressions. I am definitely going to watch KMLM and right now I am more inclined to watch Ning over Snowy. Running around gathering herbs and getting patched up doesn't sound great to me.

Heheh I haven't caught up at all on anything! πŸ˜…I just came to see if I should continue with this or drop this or Rise of Ning. I had a business dinner that went on till 3am last night and I have another (hopefully earlier) one tonight. I don't think I can keep up with all 3 dramas and maybe not even 2.

One kills you slowly and the other one right away! What a choice!

The leads in modern day would have severe liver issues, the amount of alcohol they consumed. lol.
Well in ancient times across the world many cultures (Greeks, Romans, English etc) drank more wine than water. Bc the water was often so polluted and diseased, esp in cities that you are more likely to die drinking water than alcohol.

Yeah I'm sure you have a pretty good idea when's the best mood for this show. Though with only a few dozen watchers,…
Yeah usually I really love the serious shows but I am quite busy this year so I have been more drawn towards light entertainment. I couldn't watch Blossoms Shanghai at all, I think it needs to be edited down. So far I have skipped this one, Blossoms Shanghai and To the Wonder but I will find my way back to them at some point.

No not at all, no need to rewrite. All these time jump/time travel plots always sound a bit confusing until you watch it. πŸ˜…

I think its much better. It was a very short, very trashy and very forgettable novel where the ML is a super abusive scumbag. They filled in the plot and characters quite a bit.

Oh just ignore them! People keep forgetting the comment section is to comment on the drama and not on other people's comments and people shouldn't be bullied, shamed or otherwise silenced for sharing their true impressions! This is based on a book that is more character than plot. And unfortunately the drama revealed a large chunk of the plot in the first 3 episodes. That said, to me the acting is so good they are bringing out the layers in the characters within a predictable plot. LYX for example is really showing us the resentment and isolation of a wronged prince who is ousted by his brother. Its a typical character archetype for this genre but he is making the character his own in how he interprets it in such a dark and complex way. Similarly the FL is the typical revenge driven FL but WJY is also owning the role and making it her own. I am watching for that aspect but have low expectations of further huge or innovative plot reveals. And I read the novel years ago so I have some inkling of the last big surprise and even that you can kind of see coming from here.
