I suspect WJY was dubbed in the Double bc Yu Zheng didn't want to take any risks with her comeback drama. She had a long hiatus from dramas and he probably decided to place it safe and just use her dubber from Yanxi palace to remind audiences of her and the character that made her big.

No that is so not true. Ren Min is getting panned at the moment for her high pitch voice in The Rise of Ning - and its not even that high pitched!

Well all royalty speak in the third person in classical Chinese, it’s not unique to Murong Jinghe's character. And Liu Xueyi is doing an excellent job. His external facade is to speak slowly in the most menacing and emphatic tone possible. He speaks normally when he is with his guard and with people he is not pretending in front of. It is a very nuanced and well thought out portrayal.

I have nothing against him but I am not someone who follows any actors. I check out his dramas but the truth is I didn't enjoy TU and I have dropped every drama he has headlined. But if he makes a good one that hooks me, I will definitely watch it.

I do like Baron Chen's acting here though. He usually overacts but this role, he is getting just right. And his styling is great, I almost didn't recognize him.

Murong Jinghe is the son of the empress and thus first in line to the throne. But once he was crippled he was no longer eligible to succeed. That is the only way his elder brother who is the son of a consort could become CP. But now that 3rd prince can walk again, all bets are off. My guess is this will make the CP try to kill their father before he can change the succession.

Mei Lin's shadow master is revealed in ep 2, it is Murong Jinghe. Zigu's bro is an unknown but he is a hostage prince. Not much he is going to do to rock the world. The CP is obviously the bad guy they unite against.

I think the entire plot is already obvious and I am only on ep 2. Not sure there will be many more shocking reveals. But I hope I am wrong.

Very tense and thrilling start. But I think the plot reveals too much of itself too early.

I dropped TLP but not bc of her so I can't comment on that. But Rise of Ning is a TV drama and the others are web dramas so it has no real competition.

I believe Are You The One had a very high opening Douban score which has since come down to 7.7. I highly doubt Rise of Ning will be able to exceed that. But it has been topping the TV drama charts since it aired so I think it is doing quite well.

Ty and yes, indeed the middle part was just not well done and the ending wasn't well executed either. In the novel, he had no chance to escape. They should have kept it that way.

Hu Ge is dark and bitter in it but unfortunately the FL is an atrocity. I don't recommend it.
