Yeah not to mention she should have told Mo's mum why it was dangerous to feed him water or liquid to begin with…
I don't think she had high hopes from the start but she had a method she was willing to try. But after what the mother did, I think she knew it would take a miracle. With the rare medicines I think she is just feeding his false bc she recognizes that like her, that is what keeps him going. Both their false hopes have become a unified as it is possible one or more of those drugs may save one or both of the people they want so save. I think its quite a fair trade - he goes off to acquire the medicines and she figures out if they can be used and how.

I think everything she does has the iceman in mind. I don't think its exactly love bc they were barely teens I think it is more survivor's guilt. She doesn't even care that much if the 5 rare medicines work on the boy bc even if they don't, she can then try them on her iceman. That's why she melted down when she got called out on it.

Yeah and its such a simple matter. Just tell them all - if you give him water, he will die.

I put it off bc the bangs were an atrocity on her. I enjoyed the first half of the show but I found the second half too repetitive it turned into a snooze fest.

This drama is shamelessly trying hard to give Minglan vibes. Luo Yining's mother's name is GU MINGLAN whose reputation is vicious and troublemaking, which was the other Minglan's reputation among her mother-in-law's residence. Implying Yining is Minglan's daugther? And of course her favorite flowers are haitang or begonia, which comes from a famous Song dynasty poem that is the Chinese title of Story of Minglan.

I don't love her acting in general but I think she was very good as Minglan and I can see why it was the role that made her famous.

I'm sorry but it's so stupid that the FL is not telling the ML that the five medicines won't cure Mo's illness.…
Yeah not to mention she should have told Mo's mum why it was dangerous to feed him water or liquid to begin with instead of seeming to just irrationally ban her from seeing her child. She is arrogant about not having to explain herself and it has led to tragedy. I am so far unimpressed with her healing skills. She may be a rare medical talent but her bedside manner sucks.

Yes it was the perfect treadmill drama. It was so slow I could still follow it while gasping for breath. Not to mention resist the urge to punch all the annoying women in the face. I was actually quite sad it ended at 70 episodes.

I see people comparing this to The Double... Now, while I love that show, I absolutely do not see the comparison…
Yining's backstory of being the legitimate daughter that is being bullied by her stepmother and framed for the loss of her child is spot on The Double Jiang Ni's story. The only difference is she was banished to a different residence and not to a convent. The rest of it is definitely Story of Minglan down to her father's stupidity, the manipulative concubine, the pretentious and social climbing noblewomen, her grandmother's protectiveness and the petty court intrigues. The writer is not original and borrowed heavily from past hits to say the least. Would not be shocked to see Yining character turn out to be pretty much like Minglan's but I think Zhao Liying's portrayal had more hidden depth. Ren Min is not bad but her version seems quite shallow or lacking some feistiness. Maybe its her voice is too thin and sweet but thankfully its not as cringey as it was in the trailer. But I like the new legitimate wife, her eye rolls are hilarious.

Check out Rise of Ning! It‘s just started and the intro already tells us there will be a happy ending with baby…
Is Ren Min dubbed? Her super girly voice and lines in the trailer made me cringe.

So does anybody know blue eyes, tong, real identity? You can put it in the spoiler tag blow.
I think he should be Ming Jie, who is a friend of the FL whose grave she lingers over in the first episode.

To my knowledge, there isn't one.
Mirror Twin Cities, Listening Snow Tower and TLP. Couldn't read the books or watch the dramas. This one is supposed to be the saddest.

Hahaha…he has to die beautifully🤣
It was kind of comical but I am pretty sure he didn't die. There has to be more to his story - its a classic comeback set up.

Is there a sequel to the novel? Usually wuxia-themed novels always have sequels? I haven't read the novel but…
To my knowledge, there isn't one.

Joseph Zeng's character gonna be suffering in every episode reminds me of Cheng Yi's usual characters LoL
As long as he doesn't spit blood, I am all good.

hi friend, do you watched the first episodes? whats your opinion? do you recommend? i'm asking bc i'm focusing…
Yeah the big fail from the get go is the casting. This is supposed to be an epic tragic love story. It already doesn't work if you can't ship the CP. I don't think of Yang Guo and his gugu bc in their characters don't have a vast age difference but in real life there is and unfortunately it shows.

Lol... that is a super low bar bc let's be honest, he was just plain bad in both roles. But from a superficial first glance, this role so far seems to suit him.

They are henchmen for Yuan Yi gong. As of ep 4, only 4 of the 5 are introduced. I am just guessing Miao Feng is the 5th one bc of his surname.
