Yeah I didn't like that scene either. I know it was meant to be funny but it just was not. Those kind of scenes are hard to pull off well. Even though they they managed to make it funny in JOL2 with Wang Qinian and his wife, I lowkey really didn't like it either.

Yeah I had no problem with his look. And I know he is not an ordained monk but let's just say I doubt there will be a sequel about Wuxin's offspring down the road.

I understand what you are trying to say. Tbh, when I saw the casting I had my doubts. HMH is another one of those very good looking young actors whose acting is still a work in progress. Despite his good looks, he doesn't have good screen presence and often doesn't know which is the right facial expression to wear for a scene. I had to cringe through all his scenes from Back from the Brink so I was not looking forward to his role in DY. But I have been pleasantly surprised so far and think he has noticeably improved in DY. I also really like that he is using his own voice, its really bringing the character to life. And I think it reflects a genuine effort on his part to improve as an actor. He is very well cast as BDJ and his real personality seems to be quite similar to BDJ so its easy for him to get in character But I am not that convinced he can pull off the sadder and darker version of BDJ.

I think its some weird creative decision by the producer, who is also the actor Yang Zhigang's brother. They just have different surnames bc he took his mother's.
