No worries I think your observations were spot on. I miss the old wuxias too.

Such a good looking actor. Only a director with no taste would put him in a ๅธทๅธฝ even when he is at home.๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜…

Don't think so. Pretty sure Qixuan and Yuji are still alive in TBOY.

I am really irritated by Liuyue's silly ๅธทๅธฝ/veiled hat. It was cool in the beginning but at this point its just pretentious and annoying. Especially when he even wears it when he is in private.

You can write to him, his English is good.
His fight moves are powerful and his posture is good so it wouldn't be surprising. He is convincing in martial arts shows, he doesn't flop around and quiver like jello.

I rated the story 7.0 bc of WuLianโ€™s whitewashing arc and the revenge arc ends up punishing those seeking justice.…

Yeah and these fandoms terrorize directors into shooting open endings bc they dare not kill anyone off. I am glad at least here there was a spectacular and unambiguous exit.

Yeah I understand how hard it is to separate the two when you read and love a book. So I am glad I didn't have that baggage when I watched this. Its a phenomenal story but I think endings like this are usually not popular.

Such a fantastic cast. Still, I'm not sure I'm in love with this script. I like my Wuxia without an Academy. Just…
This is a "wuxia" written in China. They are obsessed with court politics and everyone supports the govt, and is mainstream, the fighters are with somebody with status, they go to academies and the martial arts are fantasy level to help promote the big internet cos gaming businesses. I don't really consider them to be real wuxias the way Jin Yong and other classic wuxias are written but that is how all of the new ones that come out of China are nowadays. I just think of them more like martial arts stories. Some of them are pretty good but they are definitely not the same as Jin Yong or Water Margin kind of wuxias which are more about outlaws, rebels or people who make their own rules and don't give a toss about the court and laws of the land. Obviously China does not like those kinds of stories. That's why Water Margin or Outlaws of the Marshes hasn't had a remake in decades. And even if it gets one, they will all somehow support the government or be patriotic. That's just how it is going forward.
