Actually, MDL doesn't update guesting actors whose roles are important for crime-solving. As I've caught up with…
It is a spoiler for all new viewers. The cast list for mysteries in particular should not assume everyone has watched it.

It seems so. Btw, have you read the novel?
That's because the novelist is a historian and his novel was just a collection of strange stories from Tang dynasty that he compiled from ancient records of folk stories. When he was asked to adapt the stories for TV, he wove them together around the characters in the TV series. They should not exist in the novel.

I only use that button if there are there are spoilers throughout. That’s the whole purpose of putting the spoiler…
Yes that would be really useful!

This is correct. The calling of Mom was an accident for LLF in S2.😅
I remember mother and son having a cryptic conversation on the top of a pavilion after the team returns to Chang'an. It should be around the time of the last case.

Title Dashing Youth Spoiler
As they say frequently in TBOY, he is the prince that most resembles his father.
Yeah in general well written modern/vernacular Chinese phrases translate quite well and a good translator can capture most of the meaning. The more ancient language or poetic phrases are more difficult. Some of it just defies translation and some of it gets butchered by bad translators. The other difficulty is a lot of it is interpretive so the same poem can be translated in many different ways depending on the translator. That is why there are some dramas I like a lot but MDL audiences don't bc they aren't well translated. And then there are some dramas that MDL audiences like a lot but I don't bc its the dialogues are not well phrased in Chinese but that doesn't come across in the translation.

No matter how I think about it something is not right, though they overestimated themselves but that defeats it…
The Baili family is one of the 3 founding families of the empire; the other two being the ruling Xiao family and the now defunct Ye family. After the fall of the Ye family in particular, the Baili family has been lying low so as not to be perceived to be a threat to throne. That is why Baili Dongjun was raised to be a lazy playful heir apparent with no evident martial arts skill. His father is also circumspect about his power but he always jokingly tells his son he is in charge now meaning he is more powerful than he seems. Of course he cannot allow them to steal Jingyu wang’s bride. It is treason for the Baili family. He was always more powerful than he appeared to be.

Langya Wang believes that Qing Wang would make a terrible emperor so he supports his brother Jingyu Wang. Jingyu…
I don’t think Ruofeng wants to be emperor either as long as the emperor is good/worthy. He would rather hang out in jianghu. And once he put his bro on the throne I doubt he ever looked back. But nonetheless his father is obviously considering him although we need to watch to see who he ends up deciding to choose and why.

This was kinda funny when SKCF say "Dragon Transformation" and Baili father’s say stop your transformation by…
If he helped them escape YDZ would have had to flee to the ends of the earth and never return to Tianqi. But he would be happy with YWJ and Wuxin. No need to be a hero. Heroes die young most of the time.

It is also not clear the eunuchs copy was not fake. A lot of things were left vague on what happened to the older generation in TBOY so I think it’s better to just watch DY with an open mind that some things may be not as we thought. That is what is making DY starting to get interesting.

As for the emperors conversation idk how it was translated but the conversion I heard does not match yours. The emperor said Ruofeng is his only kind son. And kindness on an individual or small level is dangerous. He said he is not like Ruofeng and while he is not a benevolent emperor with great kindness he doesn’t have small kindness either. It is the second conversation I have heard that implies he has questions about Ruofeng’s suitability. A case in point is letting YDZ go. It is a small kindness that causes great suffering down the road.

It was really funny. I felt real sad for them but I had to laugh at them anyway. Bc it was such a harebrained scheme that only the young and the desperate would have attempted. It was never gonna work. I don't like YWJ but I felt bad for her too and I increasingly wish that Li Changsheng took her away with all of them when he had the chance to.

I believe that in TBOY is only by implication and is not actually known bc only Ruofeng ever saw the name and he never told. For all we know, it could have been Qing Wang or another prince's name on that scroll, which would also explain why Ruofeng tore it up. But I expect to find out in DY what actually happened. Based on the emperor's comments in ep 25 my current impression is that he thinks Ruofeng is too kind and not suitable.
