I would like to read it and I can make time but I am usually too brain dead from work to be in the mood to read that much,. I am actually more interested in the prequel. Let's see if I get to either/both. I am usually ok with adaptations that change things as long as it makes sense and captures the spirit of the original works. I don't need it to be faithful scene by scene.

Thank you for your comments. I actually am a bit scared to read the novel. I think XY suffered enough, I don't really want to see CX of all people betray her. It just feels to cruel.

I hear you and have been there in reading novels where no adaption is good enough. It is usually the case most of the time anyway. Luckily nowadays I have so much less time to read books that I only pick up the ones where I enjoyed the adaptation. I want to start with Once Promised but I am a bit scared bc my friend cried so hard over that one she couldn't continue reading and switched to the audiobook.

Thank you. The plot is weak I won't even defend it. But I can look past it because the story is about the character entanglements and the choices they make. If you just focus on them, you will enjoy it better.

For things that I do watch I also don't read other people's reviews before writing mine. There are many eloquent writers like yourself on here that would make me feel not up to the task. Not to mention that is how you open yourself to accidentally borrowing ideas or impressions that are not really your own...😅😂

I finished on Friday and I am still devastated. I can't watch anything else and I couldn't even bring myself to really discuss TSJ so I am glad you shredded him to pieces in a way that made me howl with laughter.

I rated the story 7.0 bc of WuLian’s whitewashing arc and the revenge arc ends up punishing those seeking justice. As a revenge story it just didn’t make me feel satisfied. My oveall rating js always just what comes out as the average of the 4 categories. In this case the good acting pulled up the weak story.

The Double is another recent hit revenge story. If you want something very angsty and tragic then try Royal Nirvana. There is some romance in both but it’s not the main focus.
