I think we must be watching different dramas. I don't think this is a female empowerment drama intended to shit on men. On the contrary, Li Rong is written in the most unflattering way possible to women in power and her character is VERY unpopular and widely criticised while audience empathy far and wide is for PWX. But in any case, if that's the way you wish to see it, its your prerogative. I can just as easily argue this is written by a writer that hates women. But I don't think that is the case either. They are both flawed characters - you can like or dislike one or the other without having to make it into some kind of feminist or chauvinist narrative agenda.

Well it was an arranged marriage. I don't think he ever properly wooed her the first time around and he was equally responsible for their lifetime of misunderstanding. I think their misunderstanding in Life 1 was incredibly stupid and one of the story's weakest points.

But she didn't love SRQ when she married PWX, she was a young girl with raging hormones and she found PWX hot and was willing to give it a go with him. However, once it soured, she consoled herself with SRQ and as you point out they spent 17 years together, it is a lifetime. Of course they were in love and it is normal for her to be deeply disappointed at his betrayal but still have lingering affection. I don't think she was with PWX long enough in her first life to feel that deeply for him so I don't buy the she was in love with PWX bit. Even if what she felt for him can be called love, it was shallow in comparison to what she had with SRQ. PWX is going to have to woo her all over again but at least maybe this time SRQ won't be able to get in the way. I am ok with this. I think it is fine for people to love more than one person in a lifetime. I also think it must have been pretty lonely for her bc when you step back and think about it, it is pretty pathetic to have to turn to a eunuch when your husband lets you down.
She is the only one for me when it comes to Huang Rong, no one else🤣.
Yes I have to agree with that. Actually this Huang Rong is not bad, I like her more than LYT. But Yang Kang is a total fail. Bad acting, bad writing. OMG.
