no he didn't
I am not sure it was shared in China. And let's be honest - it was not award worthy regardless.

So was that woman really his mother? because in the earlier episodes XHA clearly said his mother died in north…
I think the Tiemo King is lying. YFS was captured in the granary 25 years ago. Whereas in ep 1, Huai'an says his mother died in the North when he was 10. The timelines don't match. If it were true she went on a mission while she was still breastfeeding Huai'an AND is not Bai Wan's mother. It could be a bunch of half truths and his mother did indeed die on a mission to Tiemo. But I suspect the hanging woman was more likely Fang Genghui's wife - the man who accompanied the Tiemo envoy to Chang'an (and yes that would make him a Huben spy). I think Huai'an only clenched his fists bc the Tiemo King was insulting and blaming his mother for everything that happened- she got caught as a spy, was tricked out of crucial intelligence, her death caused the death of 100 Huben soldiers, which caused the rift between YFS and his father that got his family killed.

The guy has has taken so many injuries lately that I am glad he is taking a role where he doesn't have fight scenes.

The plot is tighter but its dialogue heavy and political heavy. You have to pay attention. And there is little explanation - they trust the reader to figure out what is going on.

Yeah I doubt it will be solved this season.

They should be ultimately targeting the emperor. Motive still unknown but considering the time setting I would guess Sui dynasty remnants.

2025: Fated Hearts, Blood River, Kill My Sins and The Glory. And you could also say Immortal Ascension.

Others - Riverside Code, Fearless Blood and yes… drum roll - The Untamed

The rules are vague and subject to interpretation and can be discussed with the review team.

In a way, for me, I guess this also explains why YFS said as long as Huai An was alive, Chang'an will not fall.…
Couldn’t agree more. I do like that there is no super genius and everyone is well matched and also makes mistakes. I just wish they stop trying so hard to brainwash us with dialogue and show us instead.

i think as the plot has been through XHA's lens throughout , in first part we were all as invested as XHA in revenge…
Yes exactly - the plot twist shocked him. But it is also setting him free. Because he is beginning to see they were all actually just pawns on a bigger chessboard, even YFS. And it wasn't personal, it was driven by national interest. So he doesn't have to blame himself or anyone. In fact, they were defeated largely because they allowed personal interest to trump national interest.

I saw this post as well but I didn't find it that convincing. Gu Yu's army is super important but Gu Yu himself was IMO quite ineffective. I feel the narrative/Huai'an overstates his importance. One thing I don't like about the writing is that they keep trying to pull the jedi mind trick on the audience - they keep saying Bai'Tou was so smart yada yada yada but they didn't really show us that. In fact, he made many mistakes. Don't get me wrong, I actually like him more bc he has flaws but his kiddy street creed was not really earned, it was just told. Similarly they tell us Gu Yu is so important yada yada yada and then show us a damsel in distress. To me so far, it is Wuyang that seems to be the smart and capable general and Gu Yu more like a red herring.

Another post that I saw on weibo.https://weibo.com/7408272691/QjCjGAWA3Many viewers were puzzled by how the rescue…
Yes this explanation makes sense. Idk if it was Cen who saved him but certainly one of his father's allies had to have secretly helped him. It could also have been Yang Chuhao or Old Sha - remember Liu Zhi/Huai'an somehow has all his dad's correspondence with Yang. And when he returned to Chang'an he said the old Liu mansion would never be sold bc it was held by a rich merchant - I assume that had to be Yang. All the old bystanders who may not have explicitly taken sides in the Huben power struggle are emerging from the woodworks. The ribbon or old flag that Huai'an removed should be a call to arms just like the White Bone song that the Tiemo played is. This writer likes to write parallels.

Yes that is not a well written plot arc and kind of contrived for some extra angst. I don’t like it either but in the grand scheme of the story even if you remove that arc or assume it was a different person that was the decoy it doesn’t change the overarching plot by that much other than to make Huai’an sadder and angrier. There are other plot holes but the pacing of the narrative and the twists are good enough the audience moves on to the next arc before they can notice or dwell on them.
