Honestly all the online rumors of what does and does not pass censorship needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt. The rules themselves are not that detailed and what can pass is far broader than you think, often depending on the review team and how well the production communicates with them from the get go. It is true that evil characters should not be glorified but that is far from the case here so I just roll my eyes at all this nonsense about Huai'an is too evil to live or whatever.

I just don't share your opinion that just because he experienced great tragedy he is better off dead. Living is hard, dying is easy. And unlike MCS or LLH, he is not terminally ill.
