Who is the Fang Genghui guy who was accompanying him to Chang'an. It sounds like he is not from Tiemo. Could he be a Chang'an spy?

I have been re-watching some parts (on Netflix) and have some questions on the Tiemo envoy Wuyin Chong:

You probably mean to say from go to chess. Go is a vastly more complex game than chess with many more possible moves, positions and outcomes. The computer broke chess decades ago but only recently was able to break go and even then via sheer brute force only. Plot wise, I see some potential holes but am willing to stick with it for a bit before coming to that conclusion its sagging as I don't think we have seen the go board yet. As for Wang Jinsong's casting, agree that he fits the teacher part but not so much the king.

Yes so those were the good parts of his portrayal. But excessive waterworks are my pet peeve. They really irritate me and that mars my perception of his portrayal. Its like they swapped out the blood spitting for water works.

He is not talking to dead people bc of course that's not possible. He is really talking to himself and removing himself from the situation to analyse it rationally. It helps him formulate the battle strategy more objectively. And he is also starting to understand that he should forgive himself. He did his best.

Its possible - he is learning to forgive others and more importantly to forgive himself. All of his "conversations" with his father shows his mentality is changing.

Huaian is not sacrificing Wuyang. Wuyang is their last hope and the greatest remaining obstacle to Tiemo. With limited resources, he can best keep tabs on Tiemo King by being close to him and pretending to help him smoke out Wuyang while secretly undermining him. Its similar to the strategy he used with YFS. Tiemo King is smart of course and he knows Huai'an's play but it is still his best chance of getting Wuyang to show himself. In any case, Old Sha should be on Huai'an's side and my theory is Huai'an cut the ribbon to summon Cai Weizong. If I am not mistaken Cai has hidden himself as the eunuch in the palace. When he sees Huai'an remove the ribbon from the palace, he will emerge. YFS didn't dare kill him even though he let Gao go bc he knew he may need him later on to deal with the Tiemo King. It is possible that Wuyang is hiding with Cai.
