I think the princess has her own agenda for wanting to expose the rot in Heyang and the capital all along and is helping PY. They are not really engaged she is just his cover to get the job done without rousing suspicions. And now that the mastermind is after them it’s very dangerous for YCW, esp if Shangguan Lan is one of the bad guys. They are just play acting to lure out the mastermind and to keep YCW safe by downplaying her importance to PY. Remember Jiang’s father’s last words - the mastermind is very powerful and very vindictive and they are in his lair the capital.
She is not an imperial princess. She was adopted after her parents died for some patriotic cause. The empress mentions it in the engagement scene. And that is why she is a 郡主 junzhu not a 公主. Her title is bestowed. Not all Chinese princesses are the same. Maybe she is cooperating with PY bc either Heyang is her county or the mastermind killed her real parents.

No I don’t think so. I think it’s all just a show to lure out the mastermind. She and PY have been pretending to be engaged all along. As I said before she probably has something to do with Heyang. She is a county princess so I think Heyang is her county so it makes sense for her fiancée to be magistrate there.

As for L&R, the FL did say Sifeng so many times I had to mute her. But TTEOEM staining both leads teeth with blood was just plain distasteful and left me visually scarred forever.
