ZX is obviously the King of Light. Probably will unite the lands. So it’s right of Canxing to fear him.

Yeah and beyond that, honestly they are at WAR!!! Is she trying to make it easy for the North Clan to take a hostage to engineer a swap for Ka Dan??? What if her hubby or his bros get killed rescuing her? How stupid is this woman??? Not to mention her last name is LIN… she is either a total airhead or up to no good.

I think that’s the legendary champion of the Lin family that can repel a 100k army single-handedly. It was the person Ge was going to ask for help when he was killed.

Yeah revenge is now his reason for existence. I think CX want them to be at each others throats but I think he didn’t quite expect DinLin to be that wildly cruel. It’s thrown his court into dysfunction.

CX is a good and smart villain. I doubt he dies anytime soon. And if he does, Ning will take over. That will be when I drop the drama.
That guy is there to help SYL but he is just making clear he won't put his men in the frontline. Loyalty to Zichuan is fraying everywhere.

There is no question Di Lin killed LMH's entire family including his young kids. That pits him against LMH for good. I wouldn't be surprised if one day LMH kills him dead. Not saying LMH is a good guy but then none of them really are and certainly not Di Lin.
Si Yilin is not taking a stronghold, he is literally putting down rebellions left and right in Yuntai instead of safeguarding the Wanyu stronghold per his orders. I suspect it is bc the reinforcements to Wanyu never came. But forget accomplishments, it will be a miracle he doesn't get himself killed when he returns to the capital, esp considering how paranoid CX is.

SYL did disobey his orders maybe for good reason to but they just put down a rebellion at the capital, now is not a great time to disobey orders.
As for LMH, he is just a victim - he was loyal to Zichuan and was undercover. Di Lin massacred 37 members of his family and never even said oops I am sorry. The fact that he hasn't gutted Di Lin on sight is already remarkable self restraint. His hatred is understandable.

The unfortunate consequence of trying to direct a war from the capital without up to date information on what is happening on the ground. Too bad they don't have $$$ to shoot battle scenes bc things are spiraling out of control but all we get are talk scenes.

SYL was ordered to Wanyu to preempt the North Clan attacking opportunistically although they aren't likely to with Ka Dan still as a hostage.

I think something else is going on.

They are at war on all fronts but unfortunately it is being told by exposition which is bad and confusing. YZ was an important barrier province to the capital that Ge kept secure. But in the rebellion, his No 2 Lei Hong was Yang Minghua's man and took a huge number regiments with him. They are in revolt and the remaining loyal regiments of the YZ army have been after him not just to quell his rebellion. For them its personal they want revenge for Ge.

At the same time, some small tribes in YZ are also revolting. Both Di Lin and ZX think its no coincidence and they all agree it could snowball. So CX/Luo Minghai have ordered the YZ army to stop chasing Lei Hong and put down the small tribal rebellions first. Si Yilin was ordered to take the Palace Guard to secure Wanyu, an important YZ stronghold and wait for reinforcements. According to Luo Minghai (is he lying?) SYL has disobeyed his orders and is moving his troops (in pursuit of Lei Hong?). SYL is being summoned back to the capital to explain himself or risk being court martialed.

It is clear Luo Minghai has no control over the army. All the different regiments are low key disobeying his orders, to the point he is asking Di Lin to help discipline them. This could be part of Di Lin/ZX's plan to undermine/remove Luo Minghai. Di Lin told off Luo Minghai that its impossible to micro manage the battlefront from the capital and maybe Si Yilin had good reason to move the troops.

That is roughly what I think is going on but I could have missed some stuff so others can weigh in.

It would take a LOT more than that to stop Canxing from going after ZX.

Surely she cannot be that stupid. Ning is the next chieftain, she can't leave the capital - she could get eaten by an orc or taken hostage. I know we will cheer if that happens but in the context of the drama its an obvious no no. I think wifey is a bit suspicious.

I am low key irritated at Di Lin's silly wife for enabling her to tag along. She should stick to gardening and not meddle in Zichuan Xiu's attempt to ditch the witch.

It is not only a Gu Long classic but what he thought was his personal best wuxia. But it was filmed a long time ago. Hopefully it does it justice.

I don't know either - they have not really shared the backstory. But I think the Lin family was the ruling family before Zi family. That is why Zichuan Xiu was adopted by them and will be allowed to marry Ning. Their world is war torn so anything could have happened.

Oh I didn't watch that movie - I have to check it out.
I didn't like Cao An either even though I like Wang Likun. She was such a blank character.

This was when Zichuan Xiu was begging him to spare the palace guard right? I think Canxing was simply reminding Zichuan Xiu he is Lin He, a remnant of the last and now extinct ruling family, a nobody. He is basically saying know your place to him. That he is only Zichuan Xiu bc he was adopted by them and given a future. This is a recurring theme in his conversations with Xiu - dangling Ning in front of him and implying that if he does not toe the line, he loses everything. There seems to be a huge importance attached to the surname - Yang Minghua made a comment about how the surname will change if his rebellion succeeds.
