Title A Journey to Love Spoiler
I agree completely. For me the last scene shoudl have been Ruyi or Yang Ying. It is not in character for Ruyi…
They have said it to each other. It is a common message/pledge jianghu couples who live and die by the sword make to each other. From the start, Ruyi believed she could live well without a man in her life. It is easier said than done of course so I don't judge her that harshly for coping out at the end. I am just a bit sad bc the fantasy implies she was pregnant at the time.

Thought you would give this a 7 actually lol. But good review. Thank you for the breakdown. Though we disagree…
I did rate the story a 7 but the other parts made up for it. I have a bunch of stuff to wrap up at work and will read yours after I get off.

Even until now this discussion is still hot and filled with nasty things on weibo. I want to see the opinion here...Personally,…
I agree completely. For me the last scene shoudl have been Ruyi or Yang Ying. It is not in character for Ruyi to chose to kill herself for love. She told Yanzhou many times if he died, she would go on and have a good life. To put Chu Yue who should have been able to move on there is just plain cruel.

I think everything in that surreal backdrop including the school etc was just CY thinking of bygone days and what could have been. I think over the 10 years she heard all about all their adventures from YY. Poor gal, she never moved on.

Yeah that scene was clearly an afterthought and maybe intended to send the message its not real. I will probably write my review later today, after work.

NYZ died on screen so I think that was quite clear - there was no logical way to fake or stage it esp since he didn't expect LTG to jump down there. I would have believed Ruyi could have survived. I don't mind they all died together either, the outcome is fitting. But I didn't love how they got there. Besides at the time they were surrounded in a siege. The idea they would have planned an exit at that time to ride off into the sunset is not inchracter. Even after Ruyi assissinated the prince, the Beipan king continued to fight on. I just dont'see them abandoning the LTG and YY at that point if they were still alive.

I would add once you get into life saving pills etc for mortal wounds it really doesn't exist in wuxia. Wuxia is a cruel and realistic genre. Only people who dont'know anything about it think you can pop a pill and survive all kinds of mortal wounds or terminal illnesses. Tbh even in a xianxia, immortals often die in combat. The only difference is they can be revived later on.

Probably Ruyi was pregnant when she died and they already decided they would name their kids Ning Shisan and Ren Lu after Shisan and Yuan Lu died .

I only expected Ruyi to survive.

Finished watching & Im confused af here guys. Help me out. Who’s that boy? If it’s not an illusion then he…
I think it is very clear that everyone died. None of them could have survived the fatal injuries they were dealt. NYZ was impaled so many times in the middle he was pretty much severed in two at the waist. The only thing that surprised me about the ending was that Ruyi died. I expected her to be last woman standing because she tells NYZ many times that even if he dies, she will carry on. So I thought it was foreshadowed all along she would be last woman standing.

I think Chu Yue's scene is completely unnecessary and confusing. My guess is 10 years later she is most likely dying. And imagines NYZ and Ruyi's son has come to bring her to the immortal realm. Where she will reunite with YSS so they get a HE as well. Yups, this was really a closet xianxia.

I am happy to watch the Shanghai version bc I think it will be more authentic. But my comprehension level of that dialect is at best 70pct so I will watch with Chinese subs.
