The literal translation of 妖师 is demon master, which doesn't match the concept in this drama because they seem more like demon hunters. I think the writer means sorcerer 妖术师 but just used 妖师 in short.

Maybe for web movies but anything big budget that wants to win awards has to be live recorded. They may dub over small parts that can't be heard only - if it's too much it's disqualified. Well didn't see the melon but I think there has to be some substantial editing. Otherwise, this would have aired by now. That said, digitally replacing him is what I think makes the most sense in this case. So hopefully that is what they did.
