That's what I am worried about. I really disliked reading Confucius ramblings and have no interest in revisiting them. So if they are tied to a theme I just will have to not understand it. π π
Itβs a classic whodunit mystery set in Ming Dynasty. Quite a bit of riddles and talking and suspenseful camera angles. There are lots of references to Confucius and the Analects that I am personally not wild about. I thought Confucius was a pompous ass and I found his writing unbearable. I have a sinking feeling the riddle clues are related to his teachings bc I donβt want to look them up. Hopefully we get spoon fed what it means.

Yeah I am not sure what happened there - was really hoping for a much more powerful and compelling opponent. I also wondered whether they ran out of money at the end. But didn't see many complaints from novel readers so maybe it was just the way it was written.
