No he wasn't - the coroner was another guy. In the first opening scene, Mr Song yanked a molar from a prisoner he was interrogating. That must be the one with four roots that he gave to Sangeng later on.

That's what I am worried about. I really disliked reading Confucius ramblings and have no interest in revisiting them. So if they are tied to a theme I just will have to not understand it. 😅😂

How is it so far peach?
It’s a classic whodunit mystery set in Ming Dynasty. Quite a bit of riddles and talking and suspenseful camera angles. There are lots of references to Confucius and the Analects that I am personally not wild about. I thought Confucius was a pompous ass and I found his writing unbearable. I have a sinking feeling the riddle clues are related to his teachings bc I don’t want to look them up. Hopefully we get spoon fed what it means.

The ML should be Ji Fa but because it is based on an epic fantasy novel with numerous characters, Yin Jiao, Yang Jiang and Jiang Ziya are all important protagonists.

Yeah I am not sure what happened there - was really hoping for a much more powerful and compelling opponent. I also wondered whether they ran out of money at the end. But didn't see many complaints from novel readers so maybe it was just the way it was written.

Young Blood 1 and 2 have pretty good fight scenes and its by the SSS and JOL screenwriter but lot lower budget. Enjoy Wuliang, its only 30 minutes.

Lol - well I am happy to hear someone liked the fighting scenes for SSS bc I think the artsy slo mo in particular was widely panned. I happened to like it well enough but I thought I was th eonly one! Have you watched Wuliang? Its a short movie by GJM. Its on Youtube.
