Well part of the problem is there is negative return on investment to do promotion these days, that is how weak the Chinese ad market is. So all of the platforms are trying to drag out their airing schedules, especially if they are not sold out on ad slots. I dropped I am Nobody so I could be wrong but my impression is the plot isn't that hard to follow. Parallel World seems to be more complex, I am personally struggling to follow it after the gap days.

I think for certain types of drama its ok to have gaps but for this one bc of the world building its harder. I am actually thinking of skipping this week's episodes and watching it all at once in the final week.

I think its not doing that well even in China mainly bc of the airing schedule. There is a fair amount of world building and background information in each episode and the big gap between episodes doesn't just result in momentum loss, I have to go back and refresh my memory on stuff that I forgot. This is the kind of show where we really should get episodes daily but Tencent has lots of empty ad slots on this and is dragging it out to maximize their chances of selling them. People who watch this later on after its done airing are more likely to have a better viewing experience and rate it higher.
meng zi yi is a good actress so i'd say it's more of her character's emotionless and cruel personality
I know she is but she just seems so completely out of it in this role that I am kind of getting annoyed. I still hope its the character and we will understand later.
