It's hard to generalise bc Douban has over 300mm recurring or active subscribers. It's a mind bogglingly big number and if nothing else, it means you definitely just get all types. Ever since they started to crack down on verification a few years ago, its got much less bots/ is less easy (not impossible) to use bots to manipulate ratings. In any case, the director GJM doesn't give a rat's ass about ratings. He knows viewers just love to hate him but will watch him anyway.

Its just a stat - 70k votes is not a lot for Douban which can be hundreds of thousands but compared to 2,451 on MDL its a lot. Its a community that really dislikes GJM. They gave Yin-Yang Master only a 5,0 so this is a step up.

All terrific observations and I could't agree more they survived the Wufeng attack by sheer luck. But they do tell us from the beginning that the Gongs retreated into that mountain and couldn't even defend allies like Zheng family. So they were just paper tigers and Wufeng was indeed stronger. We just got head faked by Ziyu's rebellious childish assessment about why are we hiding when we can take Wufeng on in jianghu. The truth is they couldn't. They just have a massive home turf advantage on their own mountain which barely saved them.
