At this point I think the best ending outcome we can hope for is if the emperor is cured and Wuyi strikes a lasting peace deal with the Northern Qin. Then everyone gets what they want. But I would be ok if Wuyi and Jiayu ascend after traveling while the ailing emperor lives out his remaining time. I don't think living a life of adventure and travel is realistic anyway once they start having kids. I would rather have him safely on the throne than forever risking his life at the border. Those Northern Qin are frisky and super dangerous.

Overall I think the CPC is doing a terrific job but as all countries and administrations, they have their fair share of shortcomings and complicated issues as well.

I think the anachronism esp when it comes to modernising ancient values and perspectives is inevitable. No one would want to watch overly realistic portrayals where a ML of this stature would at 24 already have an established household with harem and kids.

No I think the only solutions besides Wuyi ascending the throne is they cure the emperor or they get conquered by Northern Qin. Li Mao is not only unfit, he is not of the Li family bloodline.

Chinese internet is heavily censored and monitored. Even though I am a fan of the CPC, I have no wish to accidentally get on their radar. I don’t really pay attention to MDL ratings bc most of the audience are not Chinese speakers and can’t really tell whether the lines are well written and delivered. Douban ratings resonate better with me. I also mostly watch airing dramas where the initial MDL rating is not stable or really indicative.

Well I pretty much live on China’s doorstep so I don’t feel that comfortable posting stuff on Chinese sites. So even though I have logins I don’t post on any of those sites. The audiences can be very young and not the kind I want to interact with. I like Douban’s community but that is about it. Weibo and Xiaohungshu you have to wade through a lot of fandom garbage (which I really don’t care about at all) to find some good stuff. But if it’s really good it usually gets shared on Douban anyway so I just go there.

Yes same with Chinese - my nieces are more up to date than I!!!
