Just keep in mind on your rewatch that everyone in the first generation (and Ruoyi from the young generation) recognise him right away but like Ruoyi may not openly acknowledge him. The Langya Mutiny was 4 years ago, he was already 17, a grownup at the time and he was widely and well known as he was already being groomed as heir.
How are the first 10 eps compare to Strange Tale of Tang Dynasty?
The cases are not supernatural and shorter so we don't get as much depth into setting up the cases and characters/suspects. They are mysterious and well written but it is more of a procedural so you have no way of guessing who did it. And there is no martial arts so far. The main character back stories look like they could be much more interesting than the cases.

I didn't see the translation but Mo Yu said that XS was harmed by someone with a strong yin aura, he did not say it was a woman. Yin is negative, dark and feminine force, it does not only imply a woman. In Imperial China, women and eunuchs are associated with yin energy so it immediately pointed to a eunuch as the most likely suspect.

It was filmed some time back now but yes the episode count has moved around a bit. As of late 2021 it was 30’cut down to 29. It seems they have stuck to that but most episodes are quite noticeably under 45 minutes.
