The author claims that outside of the characters, the plot/cases were changed beyond recognition and tried to disown credit in it. So I am not sure if that part is still going to hold true. Plus I don't think Tencent ever went that far beyond trying to give it more of a BL vibe but in this environment, even light flirty stuff may not fly. I read the first ~10 chapters of the novel and then skimmed the rest bc I didn't think the cases were that tightly written so maybe the changes are a good thing. You quote one article written by one journalist and that is the gold standard for the absolute truth?
