Well the subtext is incredibly critical of religion, no? God is actually just an alien. And its a swipe at Christian Science at the same time!!! 😂😂😂

It’s much more peripheral in the book. I don’t mind they elaborate on it but at this point they have gone overboard.

It is all the endless proselytising that is driving me nuts. I already got the subtext re religion ages ago. It is boring as hell.

No worries - A League of Nobleman just dropped it is also like Strange Tales without the martial arts and less supernatural.

I am in no rush either - already know what happens and there is so much else to watch.

Lol... so misguided. I think how the earth responds to the aliens is an important segue into the next book so her role is probably to provide the build-up of that.

I suspect to just provide social commentary but they could have chosen/written a less annoying person to do that.

It leaked and is all over the place but iQiyi hasn't officially confirmed yet they just keep putting out more promotional materials. If it's not the 12th it will be pretty close.

I have the same impression. They are over-explaining the hard science with too many analogies. And as @Megumi points out they did a good job with making some of the characters more dimensional but I really didn't like some of the added characters who get too much screen time. Like that annoying the reporter.
