Thank you for reading my reviews and your kind comments. Like you, I also initially empathised with and defended the mother up until the point of the proposal that was more like an edict. It is not that I didn't like CSS, I also could see her mother's point of view. Maybe one-dimensional is not quite the right term for it but I just couldn't defend her there and gave up on any character progress with her. Watching all that family melodrama that went nowhere was frustrating even though like you I loved the comedic moments. Its like its so bitter and then they coat it with some sugar to make it sweet.

At the risk of being barbequed by her fans (and I like her a lot too) - the problem with Dilraba is if you watch her carefully she almost NEVER makes real eye contact with her MLs. Even when she is looking right at them , it is at a point near but not into their eyes. Idk if it is bc she is very shy or very aloof. That is why I never feel she has genuine chemistry with any of them. I think she felt a lot more comfortable with WL and in TLB she did seem to really look at him only once or twice. The reason Lusi does very well is she looks them in the eye so the director does not have to use editing to create the illusion they are communicating. Huge fan of Dilraba I think she is the most exquisitely looking actress in c-drama but sadly this is what holds her back.

Yeah polygamy sucks. Consort Yue is the real power behind the throne, she just gives face to the Empress and they both try to get along but I am sure its not fun for either of them.

I guess she may have reflected and realised they are even in the sense she almost burned her to death and so the princess almost drowns here. There is a bit of poetic justice in that.
