Yes that kind of punishment is meant to wipe out an entire clan. It was very cruel but not that common and usually just for high crimes such as treason. It was also more common in tyrannical dynasties such as Qin, Ming and Qing but the Han dynasty rulers were more tolerant. Nonetheless killing a princess or scarring her for life would have definitely gotten her killed and her family disgraced at a bare minimum.

I don't think LBY is personally against the crown prince. He just sees objectively that the crown prince is sadly just not unsuitable. He is too weak and unable to rein in his corrupt relatives. He is not the kind of ruler that is worthy of generals like LBY or the Cheng family should risk their lives for. That is why LBY is clearly quite determined to remove him.

I heard there was rumor about mass release around 19/8 bcoz Tencent want to air TLP after this. Not sure though.
Ideally TLP comes during the summer holidays. Tencent has open slot from Friday-Monday and it is a different genre it does not have to go head to head with LLTG. The problem is ad market is soft that is why it has not yet dropped. This summer is really dead, normally all of the platforms have multiple dramas airing. Not this year.
Tencent can decide how many episodes to drop a week without consulting the Chinese govt. It is their decision…
