Yups, that's what I also pointed out in my Part 1 review - its just super lazy writing. A character should be lifted up by their positive actions not lifted up by surrounding them with cardboard nasty characters who are so stupid the FL/ML don't even look that smart when they "defeat" them.

Yeah I didn't read the novel but I can always kind of tell when they start to get out of character, which I feel she really does in the latest episodes. This writer did that to Fang Zhiwei's character as well in TRoP - made her stupid after 50 terrific episodes. Anyway, let's hope the novelist reins her in and protects her character.

I think he thought she might but hoped she wouldn't. I would hope whatever he did, he would not have to resort to treason, which is what stealing the seal would be. He may have considered swapping out or helping the Crown Prince better conceal the seals or even keeping it for him as the CP requested. I guess he must have thought the CP wouldn't be that stupid or didn't think the risk of the theft of the seals would be so big.

It rarely works out well when screenwriters start to deviate from books. Even the really good ones like Wang Juan don't get it right all the time. I have had my reservations about this writer for some time bc she is the asshole that ruined the TRoP ending.

Couldn’t agree more. I guess the CP is dumb and honest enough to do that. Bc once what LBY did is revealed the least the emperor can do is heavily punish him and demote him to commoner. Everyone knows you don’t mess with the seals. Omg.

Lol unfortunately he didn’t lose them that’s on the CP. But what he did is high treason, the kind you get executed for by being sliced to death. We best hope he recovers the stolen seals and replaces them undetected.
