Idk but the prison scenes are the most draggy scenes in the drama and it kind of makes sense bc they were added by the scriptwriter.

But it is Liu Xueyi with Yuan Bingyan, the FL from L&R! Tbh I thought she was missing more than 6 senses in that as well but her acting has improved a lot. Its bound to be angsty - xianxia is code for angst.

Even for a xianxia that was ridiculous.

Maybe evil is not the right word but she has certainly become very ruthless and ambitious. Her love-hate feelings for SMZ are of course very sad and both of them are just a victim of circumstances. But I think that one of the points of the novel is that it is ok to be ambitious, many people are. And the debate is whether its necessary that rape is used as an excuse for her to turn that way.

She is actually much more likeable around women. She doesn't pout or try to act cute.

Save them for a rainy day or drama drought.

Yeah it’s too bad but I think it also gives a chance for Sun Zujun to shine.I think Liu Xueyi really got noticed after he played such a good villain in L&R. It’s too bad this show is nowhere near as big a hit that was.

Yes in fact I think he is the real leader of Youqiao Group. With his martial arts he doesn’t need to grovel to the chancellor who is also his foster father like that. They are most likely just play acting but I don’t know who else knows.

Yes I know we know as viewers but my point is everyone in the drama thinks with good reason he is dead. Imagine if FYK said oh he fell off a cliff but he must still be alive bc no one dies falling off cliffs. So it’s not like they know WXS is alive but are lying to SMZ or BCF to torture them. They think it’s the truth.

WR pouted at the fire and it started. That was very funny I laughed until I almost cried at that.

We may assume WXS is alive but as far as all of the characters in the show (good and bad) are concerned it is a sheer cliff and a reasonable assumption he is dead.

I believe this is particularly true of this writer but Jin Yong wrote great female characters they are far more interesting and capable than his male characters. He even made them fantastic villains. And the more recent vintage of wuxia have strong female characters as well.

She chose to be evil. She is another ambitious character. That is why that scene is controversial. It arguably wasn’t necessary bc her fathers death already effectively ruled out her and SMZ for good and in inheriting 6.5 Hall she discovered she liked power and is actually a very capable sect leader. That should be enough her ambition shouldn’t be excused bc poor thing she was sullied so she had no other choice. They made her a victim just like they are making BCF a victim. It’s disrespectful to the characters bc it takes away their free will to be who they are.

They should have just left her as a BCF fangirl and matched Xiaoyao with WXS instead.
