Yeah, sure. As if he could possibly have known that was what she was doing.

Showing up to an interview without doing even the slightest research about the interviewee isn’t just unprofessional, it’s dismissive. It makes it obvious she looks down on him. She clearly holds herself in high esteem as a political reporter, yet she seems to have little respect for him or his profession, as though acting is somehow beneath her. If anything, she’s the one who might need to be kept on her toes, as you put it.

In short, you acknowledge that she was rude and in the wrong, yet you still managed to place the blame on him.
